My school is having a formal and the theme is "Cotton Club," so everybody is dressing up as flappers or 20's gangsters. I have a dress picked out, but I don't know how to do my hair easily! I will only have a very short time to do my hair, and I have very long hair, so I can't do the finger wave. Does anybody have tips for me?

The hot style of the 20's was a bob - which you obviously can't do with your long hair. If you have access to a Sally Beauty Supply, you can buy the sponge forms used to wrap hair around. Do a low bun by wrapping your hair around the form and securing it with bobby pins. Pull your hair back smooth or let the front sweep, depending on how long your hair is. Put the bun low, at the hairline. You'll look great.

Take scissors and cut a straight line all the way around your head, the length from just under your ear. You'll have a perfect 20s cut! Plus, you'll appreciate the lighter way you'll feel from the weight off of all that hair.

my mom used to section off her hair into 2 inch pieces and 'pin curl' her hair while damp and let dry naturally. Use bobby pins.
