if you have bought this item or an item similar please give me your feedback. what i want to know is if it damages your hair and if it actually straightens. thank you sooo much! :)

If you have thicker hair, than none of the drug store hair irons are going to work very well for you. I bought tons of them before I finally figured out which ones actually work. I have just normal thickness hair and none from Target, Walmart, etc. have worked for me or anyone else I know. If you want one that will actually get your hair really straight without a lot of hassle than you should go with a FAROUK CHI IRON. You can get them from a salon for $100-$150, but if you will look on Ebay you can usually get a brand new one for around $70. And they WORK!! and come with a one year warranty!! So splurge a little and get a product that will actually work well. Now be careful it is a REAL FAROUK CHI IRON and not an imitation if you decide to go with Ebay. Lots of sellers on there try to distract you with a cheaper iron and include some CHI hair serum with there product, so that you will see the word CHI and buy there cheap iron. Also, all straightening irons are harmful to your hair, that is why no matter what iron you decide to go with you should use some sort of heat protectant on your hair. Choose any brand you like for that, cause in my opinion the serums are all the same. Hope that this is of some help to you.
