Look at China, North Korea, Cuba- all atheist countries and look how their people live!!!! Would you want to live like this, where freedom to think for yourself is against the law? Would you want live under these harsh governments who want total control over every person? Where if you decided to go to church just because you want to check it out, you could be arrested and jailed? This is how atheist governments think and live, is this what you would want??? If so, why do you live in a country like the USA that states on its currency that it is"One Nation Under God"????? MOVE and live with the atheist governments where you would be happy??

I live in Holland, which can be considered an atheist country. Just like Norway, Sweden, Japan, etc, etc.

Funny enough all these countries have much lower murder rates, STD's, abortions than the US.

You might wanna read this, maybe that'll teach you a little on what "God" does to societies :

>Why do atheist live in countries that are not ruled by atheist? is it because they want freedom?

No, I was born here. I understand that to mean I have a right to live here, but maybe I'm wrong.

>Look at China, North Korea, Cuba- all atheist countries and look how their people live!!!! Would you want to live like this, where freedom to think for yourself is against the law?

No, but as mentioned before, I think you're confusing atheism with communism.

>Would you want live under these harsh governments who want total control over every person?

No.

>Where if you decided to go to church just because you want to check it out, you could be arrested and jailed?

No.

>This is how atheist governments think and live, is this what you would want???

If that is true, which I think it is not, I suspect it is even more true for countries with very religious ideals. And no, I wouldn't want to live there either.

>If so, why do you live in a country like the USA that states on its currency that it is"One Nation Under God"????? MOVE and live with the atheist governments where you would be happy??

Not all countries "like" the US state "one nation under God". Our bank notes say, "promise to pay the bearer on demand the sum of..."

Why should anybody want to leave the country they were born in if they are happy in it? Especially if it's not against the law to have a realistic attitude to life.

Shame that they have to put up with such discrimination. Do you have the same attitude towards other minorities?

Mind you, New Zealand doesn't sound too bad to me...

Hello, I intend to answer your question without insults, as you requested.

First, China, North Korea, and Cuba are not atheist countries. These countries are communist countries. While many communists are atheists, not all atheists are communists.

Where I think you are getting confused is your understanding about what atheism is. Atheism has no dogma. It has no rules. There are no other common traits that atheists share besides a lack of belief in the supernatural. They can belong to all walks of life, and have any number of different beliefs.

I am an atheists, and I am opposed to communism. I don't agree with the actions of any of the countries that you mentioned, and I would be willing to bet that the majority of atheists in this country would agree with me. I love America and the freedom that the Constitution guarantees all of us.

There is an important point that many theists gloss over, and I just want to make it clear. Atheists do not want to take away your right to practice your religion. We do not want to make the US into a communist country. We just want the freedom to keep our own beliefs, just like you have.

We do not want the government to favor one religion over another, and prohibit people from using the government to force their religion on us against our will. The Constitution prohibits this kind of activity, and we just want that upheld. That's it. The US was founded as a secular democratic republic, and the constitution is not based on any religion whatsoever. The government was designed to remain neutral in matters of religion, and the only time that atheists have a problem with theists is when they try to change this.

Yawn. Under God was put on money in the 50's.....it was an anti-communist thing. And it's extremely silly. Does it violate the separation of church and state? Yes. Is it an important, critical fight? Not really. It's another flag burning issue. We have bigger things to be worried about.

One of those bigger things is narrow minded, uneducated, STUPID people....like...say.....you appear to be. China, N. Korea, and Cuba's governments have little to do with being atheists. They are dictatorships that pay lip service to communism while ignoring all of the things that mattered in what Marx actually wrote.

How about an example of a fundamentalsit religious country like you sound you approve of.....IRAN!!!!! Or how about all of Europe during the old burn anyone who might be Jewish or think the earth revolves around the sun days? Those sound like good places to live to you ding bat?

Why do I have to move because I don't agree with you? Isn't the entire principle of the US that I have the right to fight in the poltiical arena for my interests and beliefs?

You don't understand what this country is. You don't understand what non-believers think. You don't understand how separation of Church and State arose. You understand that anyone different then you should leave. Because you are an ignorant imbecile.

Should Bill Gates go to China and take all of his jobs with him?

Uh...that's communist, not atheist. Alot of Cubans are Catholic & alot of Asian countries are Buddhist. Just because Christianity isn't the norm there, that does not mean that it is a Godless or unholy country.

I'd much rather live in a country where religion doesn't rule the goverment. Oh wait.....

By the way "Under God" means NOTHING. That wasn't added because the U.S goverment is holy. They added it during the Cold War era to enforce the so called American ideals. At least do a little research before you post a question.

Hmmm, living in a nation that feels it is morally ok to kill those that do not believe in the same god that they believe in, and Christians and Muslims allow this??? Every night on TV there are smarmy televangelists stealing money from old people and yet why aren't the "good" christians putting a stop to this? Who is worse, the Atheists who do not move out of a COUNTRY BASED ON RELIGIOUS FREEDOM or the christians that sit idly by whilst their preachers steal from the weak?

I live in America because I have the right to speak out against religion and don't want to see America become a theocracy. I believe if religious freedom, that freedom also protects me from religion. This country was founded on the principles of individual freedom, not religious dogma. If you want to see a theocracy in action visit Iran.

Any country that imposes religion (or lack thereof) on its citizens is not a place I want to live. A country with freedom of religion and a religious ruler is better than one without either.

The reason you got insulting answers is that the tone of your question was totally insulting in the first place. Don't be surprised when people answer in kind.

Joshua you just don't make the sun stand still for me. You are so tightly wrapped inside your cocoon of Ignorance afraid of loosing that little piece of la la fantasy land of eternity if you dare have one intelligent thought. You are so afraid your fantasy boogie man Satan will jump up and take a bite of your butt. You don't dare burst out into a beautiful butterfly of intellect. I am an Atheist I love it when you get so envious of us that you go into one of your tirades of rage and try to discredit us. Love and Kisses Betty.
