Don't force him, but you have to convince him. Most toddlers get picky at some point, it's their way of exerting control over themselves.

Just keep offering him new things, and take a bite and really enjoy it yourself - like fruit (fresh or canned), cheese, yogurt, bread, mashed potatoes, peanut butter... if you can get him interested in just a couple more things you can rotate through them for quite some time.

Someone on this forum once suggested to me to offer V8 fusion juices, which have both fruit and veggie juices, while my son was snubbing vegatables. He loves the stuff! He came out of that phase eventually, but I still give it to him because it's an extra serving of veggies he's getting without knowing it!

Do you realize that when you buy a toaster - it comes with instructions.................... Babies should also come with instructions. The first thing listed should be; parents need to be the parent and do NOT ever give into the child! Give the child nutritious food and that's all! If the child will not eat the food, cover it, place it in the frig, for the next meal, remove the plate, uncover it and give it to the child again (continue this until the child learns to eat what is place before him/her). A parent must never waste money on food a child who decides to be picky.
You are the parent - do your job!

Lay off too much of the rice for right now. Maybe introduce some other veggies and meat combinations. Feed him these nourishing things when he's hungry, and see how that goes.

Maybe substitute strained fruits for the pudding and pizza.
And maybe give him some nourishing cereals instead of the other things.

Don't worry to much over this. It's only a phase, and he will eat when he gets hungry.

Have dinner along with him. He will feel he is odd man out at home as far as taste is concerned
Don't voice the difference out..Kids are good observers.
All the options you have mentioned are normal and healthy too. Don't make them food substitutes .Only pizza Can be
Don't force your tastes on him , he will loose his Independence in choice and thinking.
See if you could offer other healthy options to him. Like I give him wheat Maggie with lots of veggies and Pasta (wheat base)

My kid learnt to eat rice like a normal person at 10 months where as my sister kid is still struggling at 7yrs (I said struggling bcoz its better now) . The tastes and needs change as time .. don't worry much about it.

don't verbally make him feel bad , different , special, or mad bocz he has his own preferences. Avoid discussions about his food habits at home. He will grow more adamant

As a mother of three. I went throught this stage with all of my kids. All you can do is offer what you know is best. They are pretty good judges on what they need to eat. Pizza is good. Usually has cheese, meat, etc. My kids are now 25,22,and 13. They are all okay! Your child will out grow this too.

maybe if he understands make him eat rice or something then give him the jello or whatever as a reward. try to not feed him so much of the junk food he likes. also try giving him food and if he doesnt eat give it to him later until he does eat it. he will eventually get hungry and eat it. then he will get used to rice(yum),meat(yum), and other food.

Awe he likes sweet stuff..He will eat when he is hungry,he won't starve, but he really might not like the taste. My babies loved apple sauce in things.Maybe you just have to try something different than rice? How bout mashed potatoes. Apple sauce is good for them and they loved it..Good luck.
