I don't believe that at all. I think Islam is misunderstood and gets a lot of bad publicity, thanks to the biased media and the radicals who distort Islam for their own agenda.

I am a Christian and I don't Islam is evil. I believe their are evil people who use it as a reason to spread violence and hate, but then the same could be said of Christianity. Look at our president. I think people fear things that are different and remember the worst about things.

Think about the last time you had a bad experience in a restaurant. Now think about the last time you had a good one. Which did you talk about more? We tend to talk about the evil around us and while I admit there is a lot of it, we give it more acknowledgement and fear than it deserves. We need to see each others as people and spread love like all religions teach.

When I hear about beheadings (the only religion known in the world to do so), suicide bombings in the name of Allah, kidnappings and the like - predominantly in the Middle East - the heart of Islam where true unwatered down Islam is taught, and when I see the masses (not a few people but thousands) chanting death to America and Israel - I tend to think, "Gee - Islam is evil.

For the record - I'm tired of t he old "Look at you Christians and the Crusades!" I'm sorry but the Crusades are not only over and ancient history - but was done by mad men who did not follow Jesus precepts about doing no harm to any man, and turning the other cheek. Hard core Christians are not violent. Hard core Muslims are violent. Crusades are ancient history - Islamic violence is NOW.., not just ancient history.

I don't believe Islam is evil. I love Muslims. There are a few where I live, and I really respect who they are and what they stand for. And the ones I know are great people, and very peaceable. But I think the reason some have a hard time with it is because of the few who are extremists. A few bad apples can ruin the view of the whole lot, and its sad that we tend to group and judge the whole lot based on the few, even those whose views really differ greatly from the extremists.

I was going to say that I don't believe it is "evil".
Then I saw the second sentence and it made me laugh a bit.

It is peaceful like any other religion? Religion hasn't been all that peaceful!! Mankind loves to fight too much.

I don't believe Islam is evil.

I believe people can be evil, no matter what their belief system is.

I agree, at first I used to see all of the extremists in the news, so I assumed that's what Islam was about, but then I learned more about it and I realized it is one of the most loving religions out there.

The majority of Islams today are peaceful, but like other world beliefs, its history is one of killing and violence. And alas, like many beliefs it provides a cover for those who wish to kill, terrorize and destroy behind it. God, Allah, Jehovah, Eloim, whatever we call to him by...is not responsible for the decisions by man to make war on others. GBY

I believe everything based on evidence. I have read the Quran, and anyone who follows the words as they are written is evil.
