Our mind is like a fish out of water. It always suffers from unrest and stress. But do you know that you can concentrate this mind and cure it? Yes, you can train your mind to stay on a single thought or object and concentrate on that single thought. Mind first resists this but it slowly obeys. Once concentrated, that state is called "Dyana" (or Jhana) and it will give you a great pleasure that no material thing can ever give you.
However the ultimate peace of mind is achieved once you attained enlightenment by removing the origin (cause) of Suffering (which is Craving) for ever.
Let me copy this for you from:
http://www.accesstoinsight.org/tipitaka/dn/dn.11.0.than.html
The Four Jhanas
"Quite withdrawn from sensuality, withdrawn from unskillful mental qualities, he enters and remains in the first jhana: rapture and pleasure born from withdrawal, accompanied by directed thought and evaluation. He permeates and pervades, suffuses and fills this very body with the rapture and pleasure born from withdrawal. Just as if a skilled bathman or bathman's apprentice would pour bath powder into a brass basin and knead it together, sprinkling it again and again with water, so that his ball of bath powder — saturated, moisture-laden, permeated within and without — would nevertheless not drip; even so, the monk permeates... this very body with the rapture and pleasure born of withdrawal. There is nothing of his entire body unpervaded by rapture and pleasure born from withdrawal..."

Adopting the practices of peace, love, humility, altruism, compassion and loving kindness into your heart is a great way to start. Then, if you LIVE them, you'll find that your life becomes all of these and more.
don't try to fob it off onto something "other". YOU are what's going to make it happen, here and now.
well, this is what I've found works for me, anyway.
oh....walking in an ancient forest certainly helps get rid of negativity too!
Love and Light,

Yes and for true peace until then:
"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Like I say do your suited, try your toughest. in basic terms a thought. in case you do get there, to a state of real peace of recommendations, what then? The warfare is what retains us going, in my opinion.
