It is a branch of the applied science which specializes in the application of the knowledge of electricity to: signal theory, electromagnetism, control mechanisms, digital circuit design, and power control design problems.
A high degree of math proficiency is required, along with the ability to deal with signal analysis, antenna design, and power transfer. Electromagnetic is essential as a base foundation.
Very rewarding if you can get past 2nd year.

Electrical Engineering is a branch of engineering (applied science) that deals with the understanding and manipulation of electromagnetic fields, waves, signals, and subsequent phenomenon (ie. currents and voltages). It deals in the design, construction and practical use of systems dependent on electrical power. This includes, but not limited to, power generation and distribution, computer architecture, audio signal processing, etc. A few branches in electrical engineering include: Power, Control Systems, Analog/Digital Signal Processing, Circuit Design, Communication Systems, and Semiconductor Device Theory.
