If you're just starting out it's okay to learn with the cheaper paints. Winsor & Newton and Liquetex Basics and Cryla are cheap. Don't expect them to hold up under harse lights for a lifetime, but for learning they will do you just fine. As in most things you get what you pay for.

Also, most art store chains carry their own house brands that are always cheaper than the name brands. See if you have a Dick Blick or Pearl art store near you and use their house brands.

When you're ready to paint work you want to last a lifetime then you can move up to the best acrylics. Right now the best on the market are Golden and M. Graham.

Go to a craft store.. and find a person that works there.. and ask them what paints are good and look at the prices then
