Hey great question. I never thought of it like that before. I just figured Muhammad was just quite not all there. But this would make perfect sense. Satan would do anything to mislead people away from the truth.

Satan knows pretty well that Jesus is not the son of God; much
more a God himself who went down in flesh posing as the Son whom Christians claim him to be. Otherwise, the devil will not even try to come near him.
When he asked Jesus to turn a stone into bread, it was obvious to him that Jesus cannot do it and to make himself look wise, Jesus just said "man does not live on bread alone."
As for your question whether Mohammad really met Archangel Gabriel and not Lucifer, I believe you really have to read the King James Version or the Catholic's Latin Vulgate of the Bible in the Book of Isaiah 14:12-17 and find out who is the man called Lucifer. Contrary to popular belief that Lucifer is an Archangel or Cherubim, at Isaiah 14:16 it says there that he is a man that shook the earth. Satan never took human form although he can always disguise himself as one. To make sure that I am not twisting your arm, take another Bible, the New International Version or just any other English Bible and go the same Prophet Isaiah 14:12-17 and find that the name Lucifer was translated in to "Morning Star" then go Rev.22:16 to see who claim himself to be the Morning Star. The Bible never lies but the teachers of the Bible does.
In Muhammad's case, Angel Gabriel means he Angel Messenger. Let the Muslims prove it to you.

The angel Gabriel did not try to become like God like Lucifer did....and for that Lucifer was thrown out of heaven. He knew very well that Jesus Christ was the Son of God....he had no doubt, but he was tempting Jesus, who at the time was also on earth as a human being.... Lucifer was.hoping to destroy God's plan to save all mankind thru the death of His Son.] If he could have gotten Jesus to listen to him, instead of His Father, he would have succeeded.
Lucifer didn't succeed and is already defeated ...because when Jesus died and rose again he provided the way for each person to be saved....all they have to do is accept Jesus' death for them in their place.....and Lucifer is promised the Lake of Fire for his end that is coming. He already knows he has lost and right now is working to take as many as he can with him...trying to keep them from God for all eternity. John 3:16
The challenge to Jesus by Lucifer ....Jesus always replied with God's words....He was quoting His father to Lucifer each time. Look it up in the Bible....God's words to us.
And Lucifer is a great pretender, a lier and a deceiver.
Gabriel has always been at God's right hand and has nothing to do with Lucifer.

Why are there so many questions against Islam and none questioning Christianity. For example, it is literally impossible for GOD to have a son. If Mary was his mother and Abraham was his father, then where is GOD in the picture. Explain this. I mean if Jesus was GOD's son, then obviously there is another GOD because that would mean GOD had to be with someone. The bible was written by people. The Quran (not Koran) was GOD's word spoken to his prophets and written down. You notice how many different versions of the Bible there are. I remember some of them like the King something version, NIV, .... It's rediculous. Ask someone how many versions there are of the Quran. They will all say one. I am not saying Christianity is a bad religion but when you see all the crap on the news and idiot people posting answers saying "Islam is the religion of Satan" you start to say what the hell is wrong with you. Problem is nobody cares. Especially americans. They are more worried about the restaurant they are going to on Friday night. You think they care about the kids in Africa who are starving because America is raping the country. NO!! I am not saying all americans are like that but the majority of them are.

Lucifer, please look me up that page so I can refer to about that word, also Lucifer? it is very hard to spell in arabic and never herd anyone use that word and is also said to have been adoted i think form the Romans?? So, and what 2 angels. because, Muhammad if you read meet with many angels, while his ascension to heavens and hells. Iblis is what you say the Satan (Arabic for Saytian). which is a bad title. No, I don't remember anything about that what you said. Somethings I want to clearfiy, God does not get hungry, week, or need to learn. Because in Islam we believe he is all mighty, all knowing etc.. (99 attributes of God, please look that up.) In Islam, we don't belive prophet Jesus (p.b.u.h.) was the son of god, instead a messager like the rest and was not killed, because, God took him back in his sight in the heavens for him to return once more in the future. Around the end of time. Also in Christianity which has been changed alot believes that the devils and Satans hate and don't worship God, not this is not true, they want man to fail and don't want them to enter the heavens. you see Iblis hated man, but not God! So, because they know they are also created by God and has been given powers. I wish I could give alot of info, but I'm very busy with some college work, I hope this sorta helped.

If you have ever read the Quran, you would see that it confirms what was written before. Anyone who would suggest that the Quran came from anything other than God must also agree that the Bible and Torah also came from something other than God, since they appear to have come from the same source.
No, that narration about Jesus' conversation with Satan is not mentioned in the Quran. The Bible is a much larger collection of Books. The Quran is only one book. Necessarily, it doesn't include all that is included in the Bible.
Try applying a little thinking. It will help things to be much clearer to you. Good luck in your search for truth.

No the Koran doesn't say anything like that because it's not the true word of God, so it won't hold the word of God in the esteem that Jesus did. The Koran on the other hand while claiming knowledge of all the prophets that came before it, of which prophets it says Jesus was one, denies everything the prophets said concerning God laying the iniquity of us all upon the body of his only begotten son on the cross and saving all those who come to him through faith in Jesus Christ his son.
edit:
to Rallie, the NIV corrupts the translation of Isaiah 14:12. Lucifer was known as the son of the morning before he became Satan. He is not the bright and morning star who is Jesus Christ.

Satan is right in this instance. Jesus is NOT the son of GOD. Jesus is a prophet. So was Abraham, Adam, Solomon and the rest...it ends with Mohammed(pbuh). I say Jesus is a phophet -IS-cos he's not dead yet.
Seriously, theologically speaking, Christianity, Judaism and Islam are 3 branches of the same religion.
