You bring up an interesting, yet quite ackward question. If, I was in a survival situation and had to eat ants to save my life, I would. And luckily, I know something that may help. I have a friend who used to eat bugs. Ok, we were toddlers. Watever. Well, he made it inot a hobby and money making deal, but he suggested that it's best to just swallow. Don't chew, and don't leave them in your mouth for long. And deep in your head, think about your favorite food, and pretend your eating that, not ants. Also, eat some wood. It has fiber and makes you feel food. If there's water, only take a drink after your meal so you don't run out quickly. Hope this helps, and good luck!

Chocolate covered. I saw a man on T.V. recently eating slugs-bugs and ants and anything available it is fun for him to be able to survive in impossible situations. I guess if i had to i could eat them by them self he did. I sure would leave the fire ants alone though.

Gosh i'd have to eat a lot of ants to feel full wouldn't I.
Chocolate would be good but as someone said I guess that may not be available. So I imagine I am on a deseet island so how about marinated in coconut juice and served with a cooling mango salsa:-)

In a situation where there was nothing but ants, I'd probably kill them all, mash them in a few small balls and swallow them like a pill.
If I was in the comfort of my home, but someone was sticking a gun to my head to make me eat ants... well, how does ant pilaf sound to you?

Some ants are said to have a lemony taste, so it might not be so bad. Kind of like crunchy lemonade. I suppose a quick chomp and swallow.. Any chance of a coconut milk chaser?
"My brother eats bugs,
Grasshoppers, beetles, and slugs,
Butterfly wings and other gross things,
My brother eats bugs."

Eat them alive. There are some ants with big fat behinds, those are the juicy ones.

I guess chocolate covered is out of the question. In that case, I'd flatten them and then eat them raw. I think I'd rather eat earthworms, though.
