Hello stealthkey,
There is a hardware chip that allows the Mac to run OS X. A cheap PC doesn't have that chip so it won't work on a common PC. However with BootCamp and Parallel, that allows you to load Windows on your Mac, there has been talk about that working the other way around. Nobody has done it yet.

the extra advantageous question is why could Apple try this? They make economic company from hardware revenues, no longer revenues of their OS, so what earnings could that provide them? They build it to run on their own hardware. this is made to run on lots of laptop hardware, besides the undeniable fact that it takes some doing and is carefully unsupported by potential of Apple. And anybody who says that is "unlawful" (observing you, Dave) is an fool who does not get the version between a civil offense and against the regulation. hint: A EULA is a settlement. you don't get prosecuted for breaking a settlement. You get sued. vast distinction. Apple isn't fascinated in suing people for construction Hackintoshes till they try to sell them. case in point, Apple sued Psystar out of existence for advertising Hackintoshes (besides as another issues), yet does not seem to care that there are a team of sites committed to Hackintosh communities whilst they might actual sic the attorney hordes on them. If it have been "unlawful" then the vendors of Psystar could have been prosecuted. They weren't. They have been sued. study the version, people. And Dean, FreeBSD = Unix. Unix != Linux. they don't seem to be the comparable ingredient. FreeBSD isn't a version of Linux.

I don't believe there are any laws that prohibit you from using Apple software on PC hardware. I don't believe there will be too many complication, tho you may have to change processors, and more than likely your video card. PC video cards run normally on Direct X, but MAC video cards run on whats called Open GL. So you may need to find a card that will run Open GL. Um, I am not sure, but some disc drives may not work, because they require specific software that may not be compatible with MAC OS.
Best of Luck.

No!
If it says it was made for Mac you'll get the software problems that you asked about. Microsoft is bad enough... things crash all the time too.
Either computer is good, but if you got a Mac operating system, get a Mac otherwise get a PC.

Mac OS is made for mac hardware, it won't work nearly as well with any other kind of hardware. I'm sure there's no law against it though.
