My boyfriend is soon moving to Ireland and I'd like to know if there are any online sites where he'd be able to buy American food to feel a bit more at home!Or any actual shops for that matter..? I don't mean fast food, I am Irish myself so I know there are American fast food chains etc but I mean grocery type items that are only available in the States. I only ask because I know there's a whole lot of Irish food that isn't available in America, lots of things are totally different - like bread, meat, alcohol, snacks, tea, fizzy drinks, anything really.. I found an Irish website that delivers Irish food to the States, just wondering if there's a similar one that deals with getting American food sent to Ireland! Thanks for any suggestions!! :)

This Ebay store is good, it has lots of things that are not available in the UK. The good thing is that they charge a maximum of £5 delivery charge, so that if he orders a lot of stuff, it shouldn't be too expensive :-)

I found this one too:- http://www.americansoda.co.uk/

haha. Do not worry all the brands are the same. Its called globalization. He will find plenty of McDonalds, KFC, and Burger Kings over there as well as a wonderful selection of awesome Irish beef. He will find most products you can find in American supermarkets. I spent a semester in Cork, Ireland - the irish are awesome im a super-tourist spendin all my time at pubs with live music.

I'm not sure if you've actually been to America but the food there is the same as anywhere else. They have Italian, Chinese, Mexican, Japanese, Russian, Turkish, Portuguese, Canadian, American and yes even Irish food.
Just as a side note.... If YOU bought it for him and made it as a surprise, that would MEAN MORE to him and maybe make THERE feel like home.

www.cybercandy.co.uk is great if he is missing his traditional American sweets! They do a great mail order service and its also fun to try some of the other nationality sweets such as Japanese delicacies or Australian!
