Why is it that all proofs for the existence of god fall under one of these two catagories?

Category 1
Proofs where they use an emotional appeal to prove god:
the value of X is so incredible that a god must exist!
OR
It's inconcieveable to think that event X happened without god.

Category 2
Proofs that use flawed logic to prove god:
The value of X was created by the value of Y, so humans(X) must have been created by a creator(Y)

Why?

They are all going to be weak, because there is no way to prove it. I personally believe in a deity, but there is no way to prove it, and people need to accept that.

God does not require proof. He requires faith. That is the point. God made it as easy as He could. You don't have to do any good works, you don't have to go to church, you don't have to physically do anything. You just have to believe without empirical evidence. You can use reason. You can look at the world around you and see intellegent design which implies an intellegent designer. You can read the bible and find something that resounds as truth in it, do unto others, that it is wrong to kill, whatever and then look for more. Once you have found enough truth you could logically deduce that if this is true, and this is true, and this, and this, then I will trust on the rest because it hasn't lied to me yet. It all takes faith. But then to me it takes faith to believe God doesn't exist too.
