Chalazia and hordeola are sudden onset of localized swellings of the eyelid; a chalazion is caused by noninfectious meibomian gland occlusion, whereas a hordeolum is caused by infection. Both conditions initially cause lid hyperemia and edema, swelling, and pain; with time, a chalazion becomes a small nontender nodule in the eyelid center, whereas a hordeolum remains painful and localizes to a lid margin. Diagnosis is clinical. Treatment is with hot compresses. Both conditions improve spontaneously, but incision or, for chalazia, intralesional corticosteroids may be used to hasten resolution.

Take some very warm water and add salt to it, dip a wash rag or something like that in it and ring it out just a little, hole this to your eye. Be careful no to get the salt solution into your eye. Leave it on there for about 5 minutes, redip the wash rag and repeat. It should go away pretty quickly.

This is an amazing cure! Blow tobacco smoke at it. I've only ever had a couple. Cup your hands around your eye and get as much smoke in it as you can. It'll make your eye tear, don't worry about that. It works. Even just from the end of a lit cigarette if you don't know anyone that smokes and don't smoke yourself.

I get them often, quite annoying i might add. However the best is sleep and 2 to 3 days it will just be gone. The more you mess with it the more irritated it gets.
