I think a majoirty of white/black people look down on dark hispanics and think they're better than them. I look around my classroom, and I don't see any blacks/whites mingling with hispanics...mayb just a 1 or 2 but that's bout it. What do you think?

South Americans, Central Americans and Mexicans all seem to flock together. I've noticed it in my daughter's school and outside in the community too. They speak very little English and even frequent hispanic owned and operated businesses exclusively. They really aren't trying to fit in at all. I recently sold a small investment home that I had to 2 hispanic men. I didn't speak to them, because they wouldn't talk directly to us at all. All communications were through their columbian realtor (who is now serving time for tax evasion). Even at closing they would go outside to "converse" with their realtor rather than answering questions directly. Odd people.

I do not have issues about the shade of a persons skin.... How dark or light it is..... but I do know that there are ppl that do and I find it so sad..... You could be missing out on the best friend you will ever have.....To be honest what I see going on is a reversion back in time...... Ppl have become more confused on the skin isssue, if you can believe this, because of the what some refer to has *inner racial marriages*, and there for it creates a jealousy and fear in more ppl.... At one time there was a clear line that no one dared to cross... today there are still lines but they are misty and clouded, as some see it, that is..... I have spoken to a few ppl about this, of all shades, and some realy are fearful of the disapearing of their own race or nationality.... They feel as if we are just starting to blend together ? If I may use that term ??? And then there is the *fearing what you do not understand* issues...... and then there are the down right *hate* issues..... the class issues, upper and lower and so forth...... God bless

I totally agree with you. I am a white male, and i do see that. Me personally , I am nice to everyone, black, white, Hispanic. That's the way i have been brought up. But their is just some ppl who think they are the best thing that has happened, and they think they are better than everyone else. So what i am saying is that i defiantly agree with you.

How does that translate into them looking down on (dark) Hispanics? Perhaps the Hispanics like to be alone. That is often the case.

I have been around long enough to see it all, even dark Hispanics not excepting light Hispanics. I have two sisters that married into a Mexican family, and they are all dark skinned. We are from Spanish and Mexican descent they did not except my sisters or are family, and it all had to do with skin color go figure.

Well where I am from it does not matter what color you are everybody stays together, and be friended each other. But some places I know Hispanics do be to themselves.

You can't control others...just yourself. Why don't YOU mingle with these fellow classmates and introduce them to your friends. Maybe they're just shy and need someone like you to start a friendship :-)
