If you pay others - and you pay any individual more than $600 during the year - you will need to file a 1099-MISC. You'll need your helpers' names, addresses, their social security numbers.

You need to pick up the forms from an IRS office (you can have them mailed - but it takes weeks and weeks, so at this late date, I don't recommend it). You can't copy or download these forms. There are multiple-copy forms, with red print on the top copy, and you must use originals. You send some to the IRS, one to the person you paid, and you keep compies for your records.

if your sub-contracting, and giving your duties to someone else, None, cash is not taxable, and your not the registered contractor.
If you paid by cheque, and had a legit regestered business, then yes, but I'm not sure the form.

try to make a profit off of your subs, it's all your going to get. If your contractor likes the work, then get them involved for tax, but that's really risky, and you can lose everything.
