I know it's something to do with sales, but would appreciate the definition. Chinese dictionaries are no help!

I believe this a shorthand. 销售 mean sale, 门 is the shorthand for Department, and 店 is the shop. So, it;s "Sales department store". This make sense.Example is a manufacturer, normally will have a 销售门店 to promote their products.

Ok, this is the best I could do... go to this link... I pasted your word into the translator.
http://dictionary.reference.com/translate/text.html
Oops.. it just goes directly to translator, but doesn't show the results I got. Here I'll paste the results here:

In Traditional Chinese:
销售门店
In English:
销 Sells 门 Shop

Yeah.. it doesn't make sense to me, either.

If I were at my tutees' house, I could translate it easily, as they are Chinese Americans and have Chinese-English software on their computer.

If i not wrong, i think it mean the main shop. Coz for some company they have a factory outlet or they also have other branch, they may even setup fair. So i think it mean the main shop where u can get a particular product the company sell.
