The size of software varies. Photoshop is several hundred MB's.
Some programs, such as some free image editors, are 20 or some MB's. Generally the more complex a program is, the larger it is.

A kilobyte equals 1024 (or 210) bytes. Likewise, a megabyte (MB) equals 1024 KB or 220 bytes and a gigabyte (GB) equals 1024 MB or 230 bytes.
