if it is possible i am bringing something home from other dogs to mine. what could i be bringing home just viruses from other dogs? because my pom has had recent diarreah/bloody stools, and throw up. he is under vet care with meds, thinking itis possible stress /colitis . so im wondering if this is connected. if im bringing home something, could that be what im bringing home...colitis to him or is that totally different?

It is possible. I would recommend changing you clothes as soon as you get home and putting them and you shoes where your dog cannot get to them, and wash you arms and hands with warm soapy water. Do all of this before you touch you dog and you will drastically reduce the risk of your dog getting sick from all of the other dogs that you work with.

If you are really worried then I suggest this:

Does the dog ranch has special handwashes, etc to be used between handling dogs? If so make sure you use them and work up your arms, before going home, and then have a shower and change clothes as soon as you get home. Also have specific sets of "dog ranch" clothes and make sure they are washed straight away, dont leave them laying around.
Change your boots/shoes before you get in your car and keep those shoes/boots in a bag.

Having said all of that, so long as you practise good hygiene around the dogs, your should be fine, specially if he has had all his vacc's.

Before coming home from the animal shelter, specially if I have been tending to the sick cats in the isolation ward, I spray myself and clothes with "F10" not sure what else to call it. It is a totally safe disinfectant that is used to clean cages and pens. It also comes in a air drying hand gel that is applied between animals and specially before handling "the babies". I also use it at home to clean out the pens I use for the foster kittens.
It is totally safe to humans and animals but absolutely lethal to nasty germs.

What kind of dog ranch do you work on ?

If you notice any of the dogs you are in contact with have a disease or is ill, I would wash your hands and even disinfect the bottom of your shoes with a bleach mixture or something else and also change clothes before you go home.

About the only risk would be Brucellosis, and that would be low.
Hint; the shoes I wear at the kennels stay at the kennels.
