Depends on the God you pray to.
Sin is an invention of organised religion.
Better to ask is it unethical or immoral to have sex before marriage.
In my opinion, in todays society it is neither immoral or unethical to have sex before marriage if both parties are consensual.
In society a thousand years ago it was immoral, hence the rules of religions that date back then and have not been updated to a more realistic model.
Define your own views on religion, sin and society. Only then will you have the correct answer for you.

If you believe that your religion specifies no sex before marriage then it is a sin or missing the mark to have sex outside marriage.

If you are a Muslim or Christian you have to believe it is a sin. However, if you are a Muslim, you also can't drink, dance or listen to certain kinds of music. You can't be close to a man who is not your immediate relative. You can't eat pork, you can't eat meat on good Friday, you can't have lustful thoughts, etc
You can't this, you can't that, it is sin to do this, it is sin to do that.
Those ideas are all human inventions with actual good intentions, to avoid uncontrolled reproduction and breakdown of society. The same way we have Commandments saying you shall not steal, etc
In the old times, before the pill, sex before marriage indeed was a bad thing for society.
Nobody is keeping track of your actions

"God has specifically said, “Do not commit adultery” (Exodus 20:14), and “Flee sexual immorality” (1 Corinthians 6:18). That is, do not have sex with someone who is not your spouse. Obedience requires that sex be reserved for one’s spouse."
"The relational consequences are just as real, though they may be more difficult to grasp. First, sin always damages a person's relationship with his God. Psalm 66:18 says, "If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened." Intentional disobedience of God's command to not commit adultery dishonors and displeases God. Conversely, God is pleased when His children choose obedience and self-control instead of the immediacy of pleasure."
"Sex outside of marriage also damages the relationship between the persons involved. Trust is the main issue here. If two people do not cherish sex enough to wait for a marriage commitment, how can they trust one another for fidelity? Conversely, a man and woman build trust and respect for one another when they both survive the struggles of self-control — each will have the confidence that the other respects them, and cherishes their intimacy."

Islam does not approve of intimate mixing of the sexes, and forbids premarital or extramarital sex. Islam encourages marriage as a shield to such temptations and as a means of having mutual love, mercy and peace

No. Sex is one of the gifts of the goddess, and she wants us all to enjoy it as much as we want to.
Marriage is an artificial thing invented by humans as a way to control women, make alliances, and move money around.
If you are going to have sex, just be sure that -
1) Both you and your partner honestly feel ready and want to.
2) You are protected from disease.
3) You are protected from pregnancy. (Condoms will work for both 2 and 3).
4) Neither of you is breaking a promise you made to be faithful to another human partner. Polyamory is okay - that means everybody involved knows it's an open relationship. Cheating is NOT okay - somebody always gets hurt.

It is said to be a sin but since the Lord forgives us for any and all of our weaknesses and sins then either way you're covered right? (If this is how you believe)

Any sex outside the intimacy of love fails to meet God's desired relationship/blessing.
Obviously rape of any kind is wrong.
Pornography is wrong because it degrades and objectifies the person.
Sex before marriage before couples causes their divorce rate, statistically, to double.
Only you and your informed heart can decide.
