I have heard recently that people in general prefer to date on the net. Reason, they FEEL safer.
Personally I'm from the old school - face to face. Has there been a change or is it just clever marketing?

I'm a shy guy when it comes to girls and the net has made it easier for me to meet people but I veer from the on line thing. Once I meet someone, after a couple of e-mails, I much prefer to meet them in real life. On the other hand, it's hard to know who you really are meeting and at times can be really scary. It's safe if you be careful. But then again, you'll never know at first hand if that cute person you meet at a party can be a psycho or not either, ha ha.

I think meeting people online is better for some but not others.. I started talking to men online because I was in a bad marriage and I couldn't go out and meet anyone.. I met my now live in boyfriend through yahoo personals but you do need to be very careful with online dating.. alot aren't who they say they are.. i've heard alot of disaster stories, guess I just got lucky..
I preferred the online dating because i'm not a real social person, i'm pretty shy and other than with my family i'd prefer not to go out if I don't realy have to.. I think online you can get to know a person realy well before meeting them wether it be through messenger, email or the telephone and before i actualy met my boyfriend for the first time we spent alot of time on im whenever he was on the computer or on the telephone for hours during the day and into the nights..

Its definatly clever marketing, i too prefer face to face, you can get a feel for who they really are, on the internet they can spend five minutes thinkingup the perfect things to say when they might be a predator. Face to Face is certainly a plus

I really don't like the idea of Internet dating - First off all you can truly hide things that can stop relationships quite well on the Internet. Second of all you can lie to your hearts content about things.
Face to face is the best way in my opinion, and it'll stay that way for quite a while.
