Some men do grow their hair long. Some native American men do. It has special meaning to them and no one but their wife can touch their hair as this is an intimate thing. Sampson in the Bible had long hair the reason for his strength until he was tricked by Dehlia to cut it. Some men in America let their hair grow long. Back in the 1960's it was popular-much of the time in a pony tail. I think a man should have the right to wear their hair any way they choose whether long short or shaved. Just try to keep it clean is the main thing. Several hundred years ago men wore long wigs in a pony tail and ruffled shirts. I see nothing wrong with that either. Why can't men wear their hair as they choose to. No reason. Just as a woman should choose her own style so should a man be able to and still be a man.

The tradition of men having short hair and women having long hair comes from a Catholic edict based on Corinthians 11:3-15

This passage became entrenched in Christian Culture.

In other words, men have long hair and women have short hair, because a Disciple of Jesus, who never met Jesus "In the Flesh", said that's how it should be close to 2,000 years ago.

Hair grows long naturally in both men and women. The correct question is: why do men CUT their hair.

My guess - it got stuck in the trees while they rode their horses.
