No, I do not believe that any relevant God exists. Here is ther reasoning I've established for myself.

First, you have to define the term "God." The problem with most theists is that this term is a moving target.

In addition, because there is no evidence either for or against the existence of God, you cannot use deductive logic (a+b=c; therefore c-b=a). You can only reach a conclusion by inductive reasoning using the balance of evidence (90% of A is also B; C is B, so the chances are 90% that C is also A).

I will assert (and others may shoot this down) that the only RELEVANT definition of God states that he intervenes to circumvent natural laws.

If God circumvents natural laws, then it is impossible to understand natural laws. All scientific findings would have to include the stipulation, "it is also possible that these results are an act of God, a miracle, thereby making our research meaningless."

However, since we have been able to expand our knowledge of natural laws (evidenced by every appliance in your kitchen), the scientific method works in this discovery. And the likely conclusion is that God, at least the intervening kind, does not exist.

Additionally, if God is defined as all loving, all powerful, and all knowing, then it is impossible to explain suffering. Either God is not all loving (he acts sadistically), not all powerful (he cannot prevent suffering), or not all knowing (he created suffering by mistake because he didn't know the consequences of his actions).

If God is less than these and/or does not intervene in our existence, then he is either non-existent or irrelevant. The classic argument is that I cannot prove that a china teapot is orbiting the sun directly across from the earth's orbit. But while I cannot prove this is not true, the evidence against it is compelling.

The evidence against God is equally compelling, and while it is not possible to prove beyond any doubt, it makes more sense to live your life as if there were not God.

It is more compelling to me that humans have invented God to help themselves cope with the inevitability of death and grief and ot reflect the thoughts of the ruling powers in a particular time. Because humans are always looking for reasons, when none are found, it was the natural inclination to declare the cause to be "God" (or gods). As the faith grew, miracles and laws have been ascribed to this Divinity, and an orthodoxy grows up around it.

Successful religions over the long run also are accompanied by some level of economic well-being to the populace. Unsuccessful ones are seen as false because they don't lead to improved lives.

Now it seems unhelpful to believe in such superstition. The only matters that aid in our ongoing well being are work, location, health, sustenance, and pure, blind luck.

So that's why I don't believe any God exists. And you know what? It's okay if others do believe God exists.

It's all a matter of perspective - is it ours, or is it His?

Did George Washington really exist? There isn't anyone around that that I've ever met that has a family record of having an old relative that knew him personally. I think he is just a myth, made up by people who want to believe our nation really had a leader. And right, like all the founding fathers had the same moral values. C'mon, all the myths and lies. And every religious group on TV makes some sort of claim to him. Has anyone ever dug up his supposed body to see if his skull shape really matches the paintings and our dollar bill? All the people that believe in George Washington probably also believe in the Tooth Fairy. I don't think he existed at all. THAT'S WHAT I CHOOSE TO BELIEVE.

Well, that about sums up the ridiculous notions that there is no God. People who want to believe that there is no God pick their own criteria and their own means of rationalization - whatever little notion that comes to their little noggin'.

If God exists, wouldn't He be the one who sets forth the criteria by which one could find Him?

Imagine the notion, that He is God and we are not. And He tells us how to find Him, but we don't get to pick and choose what way suits us to figure out if he is real or not. Imagine the gall of this God. How dare he set the rules!

Yet little men with little minds play games and think that they actually make the rules.

A fool says in his heart, "There is no God."

Yes- Energy always comes from the energetic. Nothing is made with out a maker. (person) God is the Original Person. Even if the material universe was made by a big bang someone had to make the bang. His original name is Krishna and He is known by many names like Allah, Vishnu, Jehovah, etc. You are not your body, IE; race, nationality, mind, intellect, senses, job, etc. We are all eternal spirit souls, Part and Parcel of the Supreme Soul, (named above) Read Bhagavad Gita as it is By Bhaktivedanta Prabhpuad_ gives all evidence of God. IT all makes sense. There is a hell but no one goes their eternally. That was mans making to control the citizens. One has to understand Reincarnation and karma to understand Gods all loving merciful nature. Otherwise nothing makes any sense. go to harekrishnatemple.c for all details.

There's not much reason for answering this...just about every theologian and his mother has answered this. There are about twenty thousand arguments for the existence of God...start with Aquinas, for example.

To offer "valid arguments" [more than one, mind you] would take far too long...and frankly, if you choose not to believe them, why should we drone on and on for nothing? The arguments are out there and easy to find...go find them!

The question can have no answer as firstly you would need to define "God"
God as an old man who looks like Chuck Heston and sits in the clouds OR as the personification of the creative force behind the universe???
My personl opinion is NO to the former and YES to the second....

No, there are no gods.

There is much evidence to show that all gods are man-made. You just have to look at the history of each religion to figure that out. Also, you can study human nature to figure out that people are prone to making up gods, fairies, and alien abductions. People tend to want life to be more mysterious than it is, so they make up stuff that fits what they want it to be. They also make up stuff to fill in an answer when there is none.

On the other hand, there is no real evidence of any gods actually existing. That's why religions tout faith so much. It's just wishful thinking.

No.

God almighty has not knocked on my door and introduced himself to me. Therefore I do not believe in a god.

Also when living life as a Southern Baptist I never felt any kind of spiritual connection to a god...no matter how hard I tried to feel it.
