Maybe in the US, I don't know. But not in most countries around the world. There is nothing inherently un-Christian about liberalism. It is how you apply liberal values that makes the difference. For example, if we were to compare a political ideology that values social programs to one that wants to give tax breaks to the rich and increase military spending, which one would you say was the most Christian? The reality of the matter is that both sets of political ideologies can be in-line with Christianity, and both can ignore it.

It's odd because there are Christians who believe in liberation theology which makes them liberals.
In many ways, Christianity should be the ultimate socialism, with rejection of personal wealth and giving to the poor etc.
I think the connection is because conservatives in the US are wacked - they lean towards so called social conservative issues (abortion, gay marriage) which are really NOT conservative positions. True conservatives should not want the government to interfer with people's personal lives.

I'm not certain if most conservatives are all sorts of Christian, but I do know that the "perfect ideal candidate" is an old, white, Presbyterian male. So, Presbyterians are known for being conservative, probably Catholics, too, but I don't know about the rest of Christianity.

Where did you get that idea from. The ultra-liberal Kennedy clan is all Catholic.
Funny, you SAY there are no NON-CHRISTIANS in Congress and that no one VOTES them in, so I guess there are NO LIBERALS in Congress according to YOUR logic!
Boy, I love atheists, calling the kettle Black and then making totally illogical and foolish statements.
Just proves on thing. Atheists weren't given any more brains than Christians are!
And even Atheists say things as foolish if not MORE foolish that Bush and that's pretty hard to beat!

absolutely not!
For one I'm a libral but a deciated Christian. Conservatives and Librals both have values that add to the Christian faith. Librals are more concerned with helping people in need, which is something that God calls us to do.
Conservatives want to force Christian beliefs on people, which you can't do. God calls us to show others how to be a Christian not force them.

I would say that most Christians are conservatives but would not say that most conservatives are Christians. I doubt you will find many liberals who are Christians.

How many real Christians are there?
Real Christians DO NOT support illegal war!
According to the latest polls and election results in U.S. there must be more real Christians amongst the "liberals".

First part yes, second no. Liberals are more likely not to be, but most still are.
I am a conservative atheist, so I guess that I really don't fit.

If you mean politically, then obviously not. 80% of the United States is Christian, but the Democrats swept last election. Ergo, Christians are liberal too.

Christians are those saved by accepting Jesus (His brutal payment for sin).Christians will grow in understanding of the wickedness, etc. around them (conservative).Liberals usually want to believe they can set there own version of right and wrong (liberal).Everyone has limits on what they allow but they should accept anything if they don't believe in right and wrong.
