In general, it would make more sense to exchange numbers equally. But...
When I like a guy, I want him to ask for my number. That way I know he is truly interested, especially if he follows up by calling.
If I am unsure about a guy or don't like him, I want him to give me his. A lot of my friends give guys fake numbers...I don't have the heart to do that. But I have ignored or avoided calls from guys I don't like, which is just as bad...
So I think it's better for both persons to exchange numbers...and if one person is not interested, then that person shouldn't give out his or her number so the other person knows he's not interested...

I am not a girl but I do prefer to have girls give me their number without asking.

Always ask the girl for her number. If she says "why don't you give me yours instead," you just say "no thanks" then walk away. If she has any interest in you she'll give in and give you her number, if not, then you just saved yourself a lot of time.

I like for guys to ask for my number then they have to call or text me first and i dont feel like im calling to soon or desperate
