Let the cat eat the mouse. She probably will only eat the head and will give the rest to you. Now, this next step is important: you MUST eat the mouse. Your cat is giving you a gift because she loves you. To return that love, you must eat her gift to you. They aren't bad. Once you get past the crunchy little bones, they're quite tasty. They go down easier if they're warm. After tasting blood, your cat will never look at you the same way again.

My small dog just caught a mouse about a week a two ago. She finally dropped it for a second and I threw a small towel over it and scooped it up and whisked it away. Your cat will eventually let go of it for a moment or two, that's when You need to scoop it up. Otherwise, you might be in for a fight. As for the cat food..... I suggest using something a little more enticing....like real salmon or something like that. Good luck.....

Leave her out for 30 minutes or so, she should finish the mouse by then. If you aren't afraid to do it, then you can take the mouse away from her by holding the cat and sticking your finger in the corner of her mouth. That will make her open it and you can pull the mouse out.

the healthiest thing for a cat to eat is a mouse
and to keep a house from being infested with mice is the main reason normal people get cats
the main instinct for cats is to hunt mice
you now want to go completely against nature ,contradict the cats instinct ,
give it a psychological disorder and stop it from catching mice, mas well as depriving it from good food with protein and vitamins.there is not a cat alive who will exchange cat food for a mouse.
the question is here ,should you have a cat in the first place ??????
and do you want mice in your house ?????
and do you prefer to buy cat food ,than that the cat eats free??????
these are my ideas ,who needs a therapist here is hardly debatable

Cats love to catch mice and they love to show it to you, they also like to play with it.Go outside and praise your kat, make a big fuss. the cat will now play with the mouse and you can take the cat away then , or leave it for 15 mins and it will kill the mouse.

Of course, it's not working. Mice are even better than cat food to the cat's eye. All you have to do is wait until she's done playing with it and then let her in. n

She is proud and wants you to see what see has done. Most animals will bring their "kill" to their owner. Just let her beat it around a little more and it will die if it is that far gone. Just try not to let her eat it. Mice carry nasty little parasites like giardia. If your cat were to contract something like that, you would have to put your animal on medication (that is inexpensive) for a while, but it is something that the vet would need to prescribe. Most of the time, it is harmless; they will beat it around until it is dead and then they don't care about it anymore.

My cat did this once, I pet her for a few minutes, leting her know she did a good job, then she left it on the floor and I picked it up with a paper towel and tossed in the tras, more than likely she just wants to be praised.
