There's no longer a need for it. They can get the stem cells from the umbilical cord. It came out in the news a few weeks ago.

Your question is flawed:
Christians don't believe in the life of a single stem cell, we believe in the life of the unborn child. Those unborn children have stem cells...but so do human fat cells and placenta blood and other sources. I'm for stem cell research...not for abortion.
A stem cell is a stem cell. Those embrionic stem cells that actually have been used have produced NO health benifit whatsoever, but other stem cell research has produced many health benifits.
...so what was your question again? How is it that we are valuing "the so-called 'life' of a single stem cell over the lives of millions of cancer patients"? Seems to me that we're accomplishing so much more with the stem cells we have now!

Your ignorance is truly amazing.
First, it is not the stem cell that I and millions of other people value. It is the embryo attached and dependent on that stem cell that we want to protect. One of the most innocent of human lives hanging on the balance.
Second, there is no and has been no proof that ANY real benefit will come from embryonic stem cells. There are theories only. But for every theory we are expected to accept the destruction on hundreds if not thousands if not millions of embryos in order to determine if anything is possible. Which, by the way, will continue to be pursued as long as federal subsidies continue to be provided for "research."
Third, you are grouping adult stem cells which would not kill a human being to use with embryonic stem cells which does. Adult stem cells have already SUCCESSFULLY been used to find cures or regeneration of organs in the medical community.
Finally, you are marginalizing the "lives of millions of cancer patients" by implying that the only cure possible is to kill these human beings in the earliest stages of development.

Let me tell you. Some of you have no idea what is really going on. There has been found a cure for cancer but, your so called doctors and the scientific community won't let them release it because other places will lose money. Do you value the dollar over millions of lives? Plus there is no proof that what they are doing will work!!!!! They keep making promises but they always fall through!!!!! I'm starting to get pissed off at the world. You never know what is actuall happening and you want to make assumptions. Here's an idea do research before you ask a question.
And for one of the other answers. If I got cancer then I would most certainly not Go For It. That is an unborn baby you are killing. What if your mom had an abortion or did the stem cell then you wouldn't be here..

The lives that you are speaking of is not the stem cells life. IT is the INFANT that was murdered to get the stem cell that actually concerns most people. Adult stem cells are almost as viable as the aborted fetus stem cells. People just do not want to use them because that would make the murder of abortion so meaningless...

Embryos don’t have to be destroyed to harvest stem cells. This is a battle in the war against what will, they hope, ultimately give the multi-national antichrist banker conspirators complete control over who lives and dies. At this moment the battle is raging in the higher systems of law and government to progressively take control of the beginning and end of every individual's life out of God's hands, and he will only allow it to the extent that he is justified in his sayings. God is either known by his mercy, or he will be known by his judgments.

I don't think it's right to kill smaller and less powerful humans for parts to benefit larger and more powerful humans. That is a slide that I don't want our society to go down.
However, I am very interested in and excited about the research into stem cells from umbilical cord blood, baby teeth, hair, fat (I'm literally sitting on a gold mine there!), and other non-violent sources.

All life is precious. Life begins at conception. There is no reason why "scientists" can't use adult stem cell to do research. Killing a baby is wrong, end of discussion.

"I do not vaule one life for the sake of another, nor would I trade one life for the sake of another...or a million others."---Imfamous People's Knowledge.
No one life is more vaulable than another. Cancer patients, nor unborn children....they both have a right to live. And both should be treated equally. From there, you decide which you want, to take millions of lives....from your own children. Or to let the dying die........I will not judge you, because it is not my place. Or give you an answer, because it is not my place. Just know that I vaule all life the same. Because we are special, and are made in the image of the most high God.

No I do not. If a woman chooses to have an abortion I don't understand what's so wrong with at least having some good come out of such a tough thing to go through.
