If you ask a question out of a genuine desire to learn, then you deserve a more detailed answer than "we don't have to prove anything". However, most people who come on this board and ask questions like yours do so because they think they have found some amazing formula for discrediting religion. I'm not saying you are one, and I pray your are not. However, for those others, a truthful but short answer is appropriate.

We can't Prove that GOD (Jesus) Exists.
We can Tell (Preach the Gospel) them the Good News.
After that, it is up to GOD to Unblind their Minds and Give them the Chance to Accept Jesus as their Savior.
Getting into "Prove This" arguments helps no one.
Praying for the Lost is Invaluable.
There will Probably be more Rewards for the Prayer Warriors than we care to Imagine.
Pride wants to put us in the Spot Light.
Praying in your Prayer Closet after you put on the Whole Armor of GOD is Invaluable and Humbling.

Only up to a certain point - you are correct. However, I have seen many useless foolish questions posed simply to insult. Those type questions are not worth wasting one's time. We could stand for a lifetime arguing, debating with the same one person while someone, somewhere else would be more earnest wanting answers to valid questions.
A valid question is one that is not loaded, not looking for an argument. They don't have to accept the answer(s) they get - but the questions should be valid, not stupid questions they know they will never be happy with the answer to start with.
I for one am not going to waste my time with someone who just likes to argue. When you get down to it, with such an attitude they waste their own time besides ours. And thats just outright nuts.

They don't have to prove anything because it has already been proven.
It is those of you who has to prove them wrong and so far you all have done a pretty poor job of it and you still haven't proved them wrong nor will you ever.
Christians through the guideance of God give you the Word of God and the only thing that you all can come up with in your rebuttal is giant lizards and monkey people.

Some will listen some will not. This forum is not the one to do serious searching into Christianity. If any one really wants to know about Jesus and has serious questions they need to sit down with someone face-to-face and talk.

I couldn't agree more! Many people who want to attack evolution (for example) don't know anything about it. They read something on a religious website and quote it. They don't question it themselves or actually read anything from the opposing side. I'm not saying they have to accept evolution, but if they wish to counter it, they really need to have a better understanding about it. Evolution isn't the only thing, but it is an example.

Putting on the whole armor of God isn't educating yourself. "Studying to shew thyself approved", is!
We must do both. The Word is our weapon. Read Ephesians 6

i don't think she was talking about educating yourself in general, to the person who said something about a master's degree, i think she meant about what we believe.
i think the problem isn't just that we don't know what the hell we believe, but we don't even do things that are Christ-like as Christians, followers of Christ. not only are we ignorant, we don't feed the hungry, visit prisoners and widows, help the poor.
haha sorry this didn't solve your question at all and i actually presented another problem.

Good point. Playing the "faith" card when you don't know the answer doesn't answer the question!
May we all find the truth in the scriptures...it is there.
