1. Who made God?

2. Why I can't see God?

3. Is God listening?

Bec, people can't see what some people can see I don't expect everyone to believe in God and it's their choice.

The word atheist just means someone who doesn't believe in any God. So how do you figure that is the same as us trying to tell you what to do? Oh I get it, you are just a troll - Richard Dawkins never said anything like that. And since The Bible says; "16 There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him: 17 a haughty look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, 18 a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, 19 a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community." --Proverbs 6:16-19 You are obviously not a Christian. So you are just another idiot trolling to make Christians look bad. Why does every asshat like you have a need to rant?

1. Who made God?
Well, nobody made God because He is the beginning and the end. Therefore He has always existed, and will always exist throughout time and space.

2. Why I can't see God?
When humans were first created, we can see God face to face. Then, man violated God's law and fell into sin. After that, he could no longer see God because God is holy and man is no longer holy. All human beings are descendants of that sinful man, and therefore we can't see God. But God promises that the holy ones, the ones who keep themselves holy, will be able to see God one day.

3. Is God listening?
Yes, of course He is. Sometimes we feel as if He is not listening because we don't hear Him answer. And this is when we need to be sensitive to His voice, He speaks in a still small voice in our hearts.

4. Where is God?
He is everywhere because He is omnipresent. Time and space do not limit Him, therefore He is everywhere at the same time because after all, He is God.

Do you know you're just wrong? My kids have been asking those questions since they could talk, and I've always used them as opportunities to expand our way of thinking about God. I loved it when my son was four and came up with his own theodicy: "Dad, I think that people get sick and bad things happen because God isn't finished making the world yet, and we need to help." As it happens, I don't believe in hell, so my kids have never even heard of it, except occasionally as a curse word. Illogical answers? Do you have kids? Kids don't put up with that ****. Telling them not to think? What the hell do you know about my parenting? I'm raising thinkers, it's my job.

Do you really think there are no theists who have thought about those questions, or have responses to them? Do you think every theist is an ignorant, closed-minded redneck? Maybe the problem is that you never really cared enough to find out what intelligent, open-minded believers had to say about such questions. You'd rather just condemn everyone together than actually learn anything.

In case you're curious, I have a theology degree, and consider myself a philosophical theist. I strive to have an open-minded faith in harmony with the best science (which these days means quantum mechanics and advanced systems and complexity theory). Kids aren't born atheists. Kids are born with a sense of wonder, which is the root of faith and of scientific endeavor. Kids are born with an openness to mystery. When did yours get closed down?

According to my dictionary, atheism is a "belief that there is no God." All of the questions that you have listed here do not even question the existence of God. The children that i have come in contact with (and there are MANY) have never asked me, "Is there a God?" All the questions you have here assume that there is a God and they want to know more about Him. Beyond that, well, i am glad that you recognize that there are indeed Christian parents who lack the knowledge of the Lord to properly educate even their own children. It does my heart good to know that if you have your own kids or ever plan to that you will educate them in the TRUTH. Best wishes!

I don't perceive these as "atheist-type" questions. On the contrary, in a child they reveal a spirit that has begun to seek after God, and that is a cause for celebration. From an adult, they reveal an unfortunate ignorance and lack of sophistication. That can be remedied with study and prayer. God bless you.

I am sorry for whatever happened to you in your childhood. I am not mocking you, I am serious. I will pray with you if you like. Children ask these questions because they know God is there. I believe we are closest to God when we are children. They know He is there and so they are curious to know more about Him. As for threatening them with hell, frankly that would be wrong... children need to be educated about His love for them so that they can love Him in return. He is a loving God more than anything.

I have 2 daughters and their first questions were things like, "who made the sky, trees, dogs, and things." I was an atheist then and tried to explain evolution and how things just happened by chance, they did not believe me. The fact that things were made was obvious to them. Ever hear the saying, "out of the mouths of babes,"?

If we could put our minds around God, he wouldn't be much of a god now would he?

Never be afraid of a question.
