That would be pretty neat. Then you can have some1 else to talk bout your beliefs and not have to worry about being judged.

There are communities and colonies that some religions set up for themselves - Amish and Hutterites for example of Christian ones. If a group of Pagans wanted to get together and make their own little community - buy the land and such - there is no reason they shouldn't. I like where I am even with the anti-Pagan (or anti-anything different) attitude so it wouldn't be for me - maybe to visit friends - but I know some who would really like such a thing. (back in the 60's and 70's they had the communes - mostly "hippies" and nature lovers - would probably be a similar thing)

Call me reckless, but I like it here.

In an all-Pagan community, my beliefs would never be challenged. While that's one thing I really like about fellow Pagans, in that they don't mind whatever other people believe, that's why having a community with just Pagans wouldn't work.

Questioning your faith is ESSENTIAL. That's how you find the one that makes the most sense. We all have our own paths to follow, and to find that path, we need to eliminate the ones that we have the most trouble navigating. If you question your faith, and try as you might, you cannot defend it, then that obviously isn't the path for you. But when you find a faith that corresponds with how you perceive the world, and when you question it, you have an answer that for everything that gets thrown at it that's sufficient enough for you, then you have found your path. That is the path that was meant for you.

How can I ever question my faith if everyone around me accepts it, like it would be in a Pagan community?

I think any religion would like that. It would be very hard to set up though. The only type of community where people share same beliefs that I can think of, are nudist colonies or whatever. So if someone could set something up that would be desirable. However I am in no way a pagan.

I'm Pagan, and I'd hate to live in a town where most people believe the same thing.

Then again, I live in NYC, and can meet other Pagans relatively easily when I want to.

I'd pass on that. I like diversity. If a group of people want to separate themselves from the world--more power to them, but it wouldn't be my cup of tea. Many of my friends follow different religions from mine and I wouldn't want to give them up just because we practice different religions. Plus, just because someone is a pagan doesn't mean that we'll "click". I don't automatically like someone just because they label themselves "pagan". My friends are my friends because of the people that they are, not because of the umbrella term they might use (or not use) to describe their religious beliefs. Besides, just because someone is a pagan (neo-pagan) doesn't mean that I would necessarily have much in common with them other than we would both worship more than one deity. That's not much common ground to work with......

As idyllic as that sounds, what's to stop others from having Christian communities, Islamic communities, Jewish communites, atheist communites, etc. We all stand the chance of being religiously segregated where no one learns tolerance of another's religious beliefs. As much as I love and enjoy the company and fellowship of other pagans, I don't know that I'd like being completely separated from everyone else as there would be no chance to grow and learn from others.

Blessed Be.

maximum artist communities are like what you describe, with particularly some pagans. In my state (Arizona) cities like Sedona and Bisbee spring to techniques. they many times have an exceedingly extreme value of living, even nevertheless.

I would worry it may get a little "Waco". Got to keep that diversity to maintain balance.
