As with any service, there are talented practitioners and there are those who don't know what they're doing, and it's hard to know the difference. You can do some research: does the person have references s/he's willing to give you? On the other hand, if it's not expensive it might be fun just to try it and see what you think. All you have to lose is the cost. If you get one little spark of insight from the reading, that might make it worthwhile. Each tarot card has a set of established meanings, plus infinite interpretations that spring from those. And when cards come up in different combinations, that further affects the meaning. It's very complicated and subjective, and I doubt that any two people would read a spread in the same way. But a good reader -- based on their experience -- can see patterns that a neophyte wouldn't. The fun thing about tarot and other "alternative" ways of looking at the world is that it gives you a new perspective that you might not have noticed before. Sometimes it's helpful, sometimes it's useless, but in either case it's an experience!

Yes, but not all who use them are legitimate.
I'll give you this: no one asking for your money actually knows how to use them properly. That kind of ability is not made to be sold as a service, it is given to those who earnestly seek such wisdom.
Miss Cleo's a crock. Independent people who use tarot cards in their own homes and don't sell tarot card readings as a service for other people may not be.

Your imagination is able to project fears and wishes, this is a gift of God. So to are the experiences that you have in life, to help you learn the lessons necessary to evolve into the person you are destined to be. Choices are the product of your fears and wishes. So when you have faith in yourself and in God you will not need Tarot Readers. However, if you look for guidance with a tarot reader you are showing God that you don't have faith in your own judgement and in him. The readings will be a projection of your own lack of faith and your own fears and even if the outcome is positive it will be an addiction that like gambling will simply feed the lack of faith and fear. A positive outlook and gratitude to God will take you to a place in your life where you are fulfilled, it just takes faith, gratitude and making your positivity real.

They themselves may think they are real. But I think they are fake. Tarot cards and tarot readings are like a self fulfilling prophecy. If you believe the tarot reading, then what it said will happen, if you don't believe the tarot reading, then it won't happen.

Yup, I do exist.
Are my readings accurate? If there is something to read, they are. If not..I can usually tell because it wont make any sense.
I like to do readings over the internet, or over the phone, just as often as doing them face-to-face. It is impossible to pick up on subtle hints by body language over the phone, and it's also impossible to cold read over the internet.
By the way, I don't charge for tarot readings or other types of readings. I give you the info. If you would like to make a donation after all is said and done, thank you. If not, that's fine. I don't do this for money.

the ability for tarot cards to predict the future are completely false and is simply irrational. The Lord knows the future b/c he is omniscient, cards in the hands of sinful men/women cannot. Do you really think pictures on cards can foretell the future? hopefully not.

The cards itself are real but the reading of it isn't real unless you consider yourself to be one of those wanna-be witches that plays with junk like that.
They can't see nothing in those cards about anyone or anything no more then they can look into an empty glass ball or read the palm of your hand.
Its all a bunch of simple tricks and nonsense.

No. I don't believe in them, but I studied them once out of curiosity (cartomancy - the study of card reading, that is). Like many other things (such as astrology), what they say is very general and can be interpreted in many ways. People who read them often understand body language and look for things about you physically (such as biting nails) and relate this information to make it seem more credible.
