The Bible is more credible because there are facts to provide that they happened. Old Wive's Tales are normally myths, very little facts.

Science certainly spreads old wives tales, like PLUTO IS A PLANET (NOT) or the MOLECULE is the smallest particle or the ATOM is the smallest particle or the QUARK is the smallest particle. Or the (TO BE ANNOUNCED IN THE NEXT 40 years) is the smallest particle.
And Pennicilin is the Wonder Drug.
And Atomic Power is clean, efficient and safe (except at 3 Mile Island and Chernobel).
