This rumor was actually created by the British military in WWII. The British had just developed Airborn Interception Radar but did not want the Germans to find out about their new technology. In order to explain the sudden increase in Nazi planes being shot down, the British started publicizing the false story that they had begun feeding their pilots more carrots and that had improved their night vision.
While the vitamin A found in carrots can help prevent macular degeneration and cataracts, increasing your carrot intake will not improve your vision in any way that you will immediately notice. Injesting too much Vitamin A can also result in a condition that turns the skin an orange-yellowish color, and in rare cases an overdose of Vitamin A has been known to be fatal.
Best to just keep looking for your glasses. Good luck finding them.

Sorry about your glasses! Yes, carrots will help your eyesight as they are rich in Vitamin A. However, it is a longterm thing- you must eat a lot of carrots for quite some time.

Carrots won't help you find your glasses, nor see without them. What they will do is improve your night vision and the time it takes your eyes to adjust from light to dark conditions. Eat your veggies!
