all of my girl friends want to go out with guys who are hot...but when i listen to them go on and on about these nonexistent boys it makes me sick. what i want is someone funny and nice who i'll be able to have fun with. all of my friends only want make out buddies. is there something wrong with me?

Nope, it just that your turn isn't up yet.
One day someone will come along and sweep you completely off your feet.
You are not as shallow as these other people so the little stupid tricks these young guys do don't mean a thing.
One day you will find that man who is deeper and more into what your into. Be open, be yourself, give chances, and one day it will happen!

No there is nothing wrong with you. I have the same problem you do. My friends all want guys they can sleep around with and thats probley how they get guys. Its good that you dont lower urself just to get a guy. In time you will find a guy that is worth your time and effort and you will be 100 times happier than ur friends i promise you that! My sister told me this theory and I think you should use it:
Girls are like apples
All the rotton ones are at the bottom
All the good ones are at the top
All of the guys see the rotton ones at the bottom
But only the good guys climb to the top to get the best apples!

Well of course not!!! There is nothing wrong with you. People like you are normal. There is so many people out there that think the same way as you do. Looks isn't about everything. I too want someone who I can be comfortable with, funny, a great sense of humor, and really fun to be with as well too! I dated someone before and I believed she was attractive because of the who she is, more than what she looked like. So its ok, you aren't alone.

Nothing is wrong with you. You are just a little more mature than your friends. By the way, there is nothing wrong with your friends either. Depending on your age, it is perfectly normal to be infatuated with "attractive/hot" guys. When they are ready to settle down, they will look for the same things that you are looking for, now. Live and let live.

no honey. you are more mature than your friends.. make out buddies? that is silly if you ask me. dating should indeed be about friendship, having fun, and hopefully lead to stronger feelings of trust and eventually love.. looks really don't matter.. in fact, the best looking guys tend to take girls for granted and don't treat them nicely.. your values are excellent.. and in the end, it may take you longer to find the right guy, but you will be happier than these others.. making out is meaningless unless it is with someone you love and care about...

there is nothing wrong with being the nice one in the group...just goes to show you these girls are superficial and not looking for anything besides eye candy...you'll find someone special that respects you for being a good person..keep your head up
