Do you have any idea how hard Scout Sniper school is?

I am ashamed of you! You are ashamed because you are a scum sucking lowlife, who more than likely never sacrificed anything for anyone else except maybe your family. Some of my best friends in the Marine Corp were Scout Snipers. No better friend No worse enemy!

what kind of future? I am a navy seal sniper, snipers got future. Don't look down on us because of that. we do what we have to do to protect our family over at Iraq. He got brothers and sisters to look after and protect. Once he is a sniper, he always be a sniper. Don't be ashamed of him, he will bound to understand life more than you. He will understand, life is more precious than anything, although he must do what he have to save his family in Iraq, just like me.

I keep hearing people ask why are we in Iraq? Then there’s the war protester that wants to know what her son died for?

Well the reason we are in Iraq Is so mothers can send their children to school and not have to worry all day if a suicide bomber is going to detonate on her kid’s school bus or playground.

We are in Iraq so you can run to Wal Mart and not have to worry about being blown up by some coward’s roadside bomb.

We need to be where the enemy is so that we can sit on our porches every evening and not have to worry about some terrorist driving by and shooting us down.

My son is a US Marine, an Iraqi veteran, and my hero. He fought there to free the Iraqi people. To give them the same freedom’s we have. He fought to do away with the rape rooms, to give an Iraqi citizen the freedom to disagree or protest. We gave them their freedom. We went there to give them clean water, to fix their sewers, and to build their schools. We went there to give these people a chance at a better quality of life. We need to stay there until the job is done or they as us to leave.

We are in Iraq because we need to be and because it is the right thing to do.

Thank you,
David Miller, Veteran

Who are you to be ashamed of anyone? Let's put you in the middle of Bagdad and see you then. That would be a crisis you have never seen or even imagined. You have the mentality of a victim and you wouldn't last. And in case you don't have a clue, it is kill or be killed. To survive you kill. Yeah practice your pacifist philosophy in front of an AK-47. Yeah, walk down town Bagdad and wave at their snipers. You will sh*t a brick and pray that your nephew is somewhere near to save you. Ashamed of him? You are not even worthy to kiss his boots.

Snipers are an important part of any engagement. They are the eyes that keep soldiers safe, and they take out the enemy intent on killing them. You'd save nobody. You'd just talk and tell everyone how noble you are. That attitude would die suddenly in downtown Bagdad, and so would you unless someone like your nephew saved your sorry *ss..

Think of it this way.He may have to take another life, but by doing so he may save the lives of many other Marines. What he does is honorable.I've heard it's very difficult for snipers because they get to see the person there sniping, they get to see his face, and to see him die. That can't be easy.I ask you to never say how you really feel about him or what he does.In my book all who serve their country is a hero. They should be honored not denigrated.

He can still go to college courtesy of the government. Serving in the military is something you should be proud of. I don't know why you're ashamed, he still has a great future ahead of him with a lot to accomplish. My brother was a Marine, and now he's a college graduate with a good job. He says going into the Marines was one of the best things he ever done and he's proud he served.

That's just silly. It isn't much of a future, but I'm glad we've got guys like him. I have a nephew in Afgahistan and a brother in Iraq. I'm at the same time worried for their safety and proud of them.

You should be proud of your nephew. Its people like him that make it possible for us to lead the lives we live. We are safe from harm here because we have young men like him that are willing to go stand in harm's way and protect the rest of us. Even those that are ashamed of them.

Will you just stop with the fake, trolling questions? It's getting silly. 'Other Service Veteran', my chiseled chin. I sincerely doubt you ever served in the military.

Now, to answer your question, officially:
You are ashamed because you don't understand what he is doing, contrary to your previous claims. He can still go to college, thanks to the G.I. Bill and other federal grants.

And not every Marine has to use their military specialty in the civilian world to benefit from their overall military training. There are very few similarities between my military & civilian jobs. But if you had served a day in the military.. you would have known that.

Edit: And you nephew is not the one decdiidng military policy; he is simply following LEGAL orders. Be ashamed of Congress & the President if you disapprove of the war (BTW, I also disapprove of the war in Iraq, for other reasons). But to say you are ashamed of your nephew (who doesn't exist anyways, because you're simply trolling for answers and trying to stir up trouble) is ridiculous.

Sorry, Erudite, but your name is an oxymoron. Your knowledge & understanding of the miltiary is severely lacking.

Why ?
That is something you will have to answer for yourself.

You seem to have an issue with HIS choices.
But as HE is an adult - - it really isn't your concern is it??
He is a Marine , an honorable man worthy of love and respect. So it you can't see it in your heart to give him that as a member of your family - stay out of his life.
That way you won't be around him and he won't have to darken your day.
Many people would be happy he isn't a drunk or a drug dealer but to each his own.
