It is about FLIPPING time! Our artists are just as talented as anyone out there and deserve to be recognized for it.

It's yet to be a category and at this time, I don't think much of it. If it becomes a category, the music will more than likely sound less like the uptempo soca you hear at Carnival and more like the groovy crossover songs that sound less like what we knew as soca 10 years ago. It's a great opportunity for the artistes, but I don't think any genre of music should change to fit into an awards event that will not even televise that portion of the show (you notice there are many categories that are excluded from the viewing of the show).

It might be a good idea but grammys are soooo American. It's just based on American music and then whoops! in sticks a music from the Caribbean, Trinidad. Oh where is that again? People are not fully aware of the artform enough to even appreciate it. We might have a better chance with a category in the international music awards or whatever they call it.

i would love for it to go to the grammys. about time some of the caribbean artists get some recognition. to be honest, if it does happen, it might not be aired. take for instance the reggae catergory. meh jus sayin.

Girl that would be too wonderful, but they won't air the category for years to come.
