without doing a sensitivity test on all the colours you would be best to limit your choise to simple black and grey (starting with soemthign small and inconspiciuous. Avoid red (its rather toxic to the body and many people are prone to having reactions to it), and fancy things like UV ink.

To the person above heavy metals were outlawed in tattooing ink years ago, ink is now basically coloured pigment and a liquid surfactant. The only metals in it are the same used to make some paint colours like titanium for the white, all of which as in such small amounts as to be nowhere near toxic.

When healing it is a perfectly acceptable practice to put NOTHING on it. Your body can heal itself without your help very effectively. My skin is very sensitive after being tattooed and i cannot put anything on or i break out very badly.

my ears get infected really easily and I've never been able to have pierced ears as a result - I was concerned about that and looked up alot of info before I got my tattoo as well and ultimately, I was ok getting my tattoo. I would stay away from tattoos with red in them to be on the cautious side but look up tattoos and allergies on the net. The dyes and contents in the ink do contain natural metals but the dye is also used in let's say - clothing dyes as well. Most likely, when you're getting ear infections from pierced ears, it's the nickel in the earrings. I am not sure about the makeup because I've never had that problem, but I would google it to find out more information about it. I would also contact the tattoo studio that you're planning on working with and let them know your concerns and maybe ask if you get get a test spot done....Best of luck!

I would be very careful getting a tatoo. I would seriously rethink it. MAybe you could get a small tattoo somewhere on your body (like a heart or flower) just to see how your skin reacts!

Thanks
