How does being raised in church cause the mindset to get into trouble?
I was raised in church my father until he passed away was a minister and a teacher at the church we attended. My mother also taught Bible Classes my parents never preached to us they lived their beliefs. So when I became a young adult and started to make my own choices I didn't always chose right, but those were the times that I really became to know God for myself and realized that the Bible, the things I had been taught were very real and that it wouldn't be easy but if I applied those things to my life and lived them like my parents did I would be blessed, I would experience less pain, heartache and guilt.
I appreciate what I was taught as a child, even though it was head knowledge its just like anything else you learn in school...when you're taking certain classes you wonder when are you ever going to use this info in the real world, then one day you become responsible for grocery shopping or something and you have to figure out whats 40% off the original price and you remember I learned percentages in 8th grade.
There is no man who will or have not made bad choices some more than others and whether you are raised in or out of the church we all have the same human tendacies but knowing God gives you a whole different perspective on situations, gives you hope, gives you peace, gives you forgiveness.

well your only half right. the greatest christians i know were not born into a church, they did have bad upbringings, and they found Jesus when it was time for them to find him. their stories all vary in how bad it got for them but the ending is always the same, they got saved and they are living a good life now! i am a born again christian and yes i was brought into the church when i was 4 and yes alot of the things i did growing up was the result of being in church, good or bad. the good thing is despite whatever i did wrong i know that i am forgiven and i don't need to blame God or the church for all the stupid things i did or the trouble i got into. thats the difference between people who are honest and those who want to hide. i don't need to hide that i'm a sinner because i am also saved by grace!!

The scenario you propose is not always true, that's why! I was raised in a Christian home, but I never strayed. I never got into serious trouble. However, in God's eyes, I was just as bad a sinner as those who did. To God, all sin is just that: sin. It doesn't matter what your sins were, they are still sin. The fact that society wouldn't consider my sins sinful doesn't mean God wouldn't. He does. So, even though I never got into "serious trouble," as you put it, I needed to be and am born again just like those who did.
By the way, I am a born again Christian, and I do tell the whole truth when I share how I became saved. Want to hear it?

1. Because I wasn't raised in church. Like I mentioned in another question, my dad considers himself neo-pagan and my mom is very into new-age stuff. I never had any belief whatsoever forced on me.
2. I didn't really get into any "trouble". I just carried around alot of anger inside of me because things that had happened to me as a child and young adult. I've never been a junkie, never spent any time in jail. It was just my anger that was preventing me from enjoying my life. Causing depression. Making the idea of driving my car off of a bridge pretty tempting.
3. I did find Jesus, as corny as many people have made that particular phrase sound. And it did change my life for the better. Helped me learn to forgive and let all that anger go. Taught me to love and help other people instead of hate them.
4. Self-explanatory.
Hope that answered your question. Have a nice day!

Church makes you corrupt? Where in the world did you come to this revelation... I was raise by unchurched parents and picked up my first religious ideas in a non-christian cult. It wasn't until I was in my late 20's when God showed me the kind of love He has for His children through the love I held for my own. So you #1... Nonsense.. Your #2 I was very conformist. and #3 If you call a non-christian cult a good place to find Jesus you are just weird.... Jim

I wasn't raised in church. Born again christians aren't always in trouble , but we are all sinners. Anyone that says different is lying. I was 35 years old when i found Jesus and the holy spirit really worked on me, so how do you explain that? Maybe i don't fit the profile

I was not raised in chruch. In fact my home life was miserable. I witnessed alot of abuse. My mother is now a Christian also but she did not become a Christian until after I moved out of her house. Please show what study you have that shows children who are raised in church cause trouble making mindsets? Or are you just pulling stuff out of thin air? I do not mean to be mean or make you angry this was just a pretty poor attempt for your cause.

I was not raised in church.
I never got into any trouble.
I did find Jesus (or maybe he found me). It did change my life for the better.
I was called to be baptised and recieved into the Catholic church at the oh-so-young age of 18.
