There is no easy home remedy for fleas.
You can flea comb your dog every day, and drop the fleas into a bottle of surgical spirit. Bath your dog in baby bath once a week. Use cotton towels for bedding and boil wash them once a week with no washing powder of fabric conditioner. Use a plastic dog bed not a wicker one.
Get a really good hoover and hoover throughout the house right up to the skirting board every day.

But bottom line is that fleas transmit tapeworm, plus your dog will pick up more fleas every time he goes out, bring them back and they start to breed in your house.
The easy way is to go to the vet and get the stuff you drop onto the back of their neck, theres a new one called Stronghold that does the worming as well.

If she already has fleas, you need to get medication from the Vet - Frontline is the most effective. Once she is clear of fleas, a garlic capsule a few time a week in her food will help keep them at bay & bathing her in Tea Tree Shampoo. If she is getting fleas frequently, you need to find the source. Does she come in contact with other dogs, a cat, rabbits?

Bob Martins flea spot perhaps? But personally I'd avoid the supermarket stuff, as they are cheap and can irritate the skin. The vet can give you a tube to squirt on the dog's neck, its stronger and works instantly. Also, the vet's treatment lasts for up to 6 months, so the fleas won't return any time soon. I suggest hoovering all your rooms and opening the windows, as fleas bread in warm areas. Flea shampoo doesn't work, as fleas can swim (put one in a cup of water, its funny).

Frontline, frontline, frontline.. I have had cats and dogs for 15 years, its the only thing that realy works. Lots of hoovering (empty your hoover and get rid after every hoover) and give them a good comb about once a month just to keep an eye??

Buy Frontline at the Vet or online. One little squirt a month on the back of the dogs neck will keep it free of fleas. For quick fix right now, bathe in Joy detergent. Once fleas are dead, keep your dog healthy and free of all ticks and fleas using the above recommended item.

Frontline is great from the vets but you can give dogs garlic and this is a repellent to fleas. I bought my dog garlic capsules just a low dose and give him one of them every now and then and it keeps them abay.

frontline AFTER a medicated - anti flea, bath with soothing after conditioner. and a trip to vets for a hydrocortisone injection while the frontline starts to work.
don't forget to wash and vaccum everything!!
You can buy home flea bombs in Band Q too, they don't harm anything but you have to go out for a couple of hours after you light it
Been there....

i use 7dust. you can put it on the dog and in the carpets. much cheaper than treatmants. i have used it for years and do not have fleas. its ok in the carpet with kids but not babies and toddlers that stay face first on the floor. i give them regular baths too but with regular people shampoo. if she has fleas now then do give her a flea bath. dogs can get tapeworms from fleas too. thats my "home" remedy!! has not failed me yet!
good luck

There are a bunch of things you should know about dog training but we are going to discuss what I feel are some the most important. Keep in mind that these are only some of the things you should know. Go here http://OnlineDogTraining.enle.info/?tT5r

1. Repetition is the number 1 principle of dog training. Dogs just like humans learn by doing things over and over in order to get better.

2. Dog Training can and should be fun for both you and your new pet.

3. Training sessions should always be short but sweet. I never work a dog more than 15 minutes in a session to keep from losing the dog's attention. You should train you dog at least once a day but never more than three formal sessions a day.

4. Your goal should be that each training session is just a little bit better than the last one. You need to always strive to make the training better, slowly. I mention this because quite often I see people who do daily training sessions but the dog never gets better and it is not the dogs fault.

5. Having patients is very important in dog training. Losing your temper does not work with a canine it simply makes things worse.

6. Exercise is very important in the training process to get rid of all the dogs nervous energy.

7. Taking your pet for walks is very important because it develops serotonin which gives your dog a feeling of well being.

8. Always be sure to give your dog a bunch of praise in your training. It is your dog's paycheck for doing a great job.

9. Never hit your dog. I have heard people say I never hit my dog instead I roll up a magazine and swat it. It's the same thing... hitting is hitting.

10. After each training session be sure to do something that your dog will enjoy. Take it for a walk, throw the ball or maybe even rub its belly. Just do something that makes the dog look forward to the next training session.

These are things that I teach my dog training students as well as my dog training clients. I hope these things will give you something to think about when training your dog. Spend some time training your dog daily and you will both reap the benefits.
