Military service (especially as an officer) will be a crown jewel in your resume for years to come. Combined with the actual experience itself and how it improves many of your leadership (management) skills, and just the overall personal improvement you will gain; YES, it's worth it.
Future employers will see that military service as a major factor, and it can count for more than you realize. I take special notice when I see a resume that shows military service and read that resume very carefully. It gets your foot in more doors than you can realize.

Do you have what it takes to be an officer? If your attitude is heck I'm only doing part time then please do not become an officer because obviously you do not want to be a leader. I seen Lt who just want because of the money you would be making 5 times what you would if going in otherwise, and the do it for that but when it came down to leading the couldn't. If you except that commission people would be following you? Are you strong enough to give orders in combat? Are you strong enough to watch a member of your squad die and write a letter to their parents? Are you strong enough to say follow me I will get us there and back or smart enough to give your NCO's the responsibilities they are suppose to have and then back them.
Yes a commision wouild look great on the resume if you are an Officer anyone would follow? Are you?
If not please don't do it because the will not respect you

It's definitely worth it. But if you have to think about it you are not officer material. You sound like a dud who only cares about you first. Not your men. I would not want are respect you as an officer. If you do not have the respect of your men even your wussy guard time can be made miserable. So your best bet would to just be a sad sack, pull all the K.P. duty and try to get out.

Don't rule out direct commision, you'll have to still complete basic and ait, and get a waiver for rank. so it may take a little for the packet to come through, but would cut time off of your training. But either way get your commission. but there is no reason you can't make a better decision after you complete basic and ait. get to know the army a little bit then decide if its worth it.

Not worth it to me, in my opinion. Never could understand the whole reserve/national guard thing given the effort that has to be put in, but of course everyone views these things differently. For the effort, why not go active duty for at least a few years and have the experience worthwhile. There may be benefits associated with reserve duty but holy crap, you're going to put in some serious physical effort and mental effort. Thanks for being a great American, whatever your choice is.

Your choice.
But One should never waste a college degree-when one could be an officer vice enlisted ranks.
Dude the life of an officer compared to enlisted is like fresh bread to stale hard bread. Not counting the money and respect.
