i have 2 females and they both do this.i have one male that doesn,t.Does anyone know?

I don't know either, but all our dachsunds(except OUR male, too!)do it. Perhaps it has something to do with the texture? How intriging!

I did not know they were supose to. lol
My cousin has bread dauchaunds for a number of years. Hers never did that unless her kids drop some food on one.

Why do my Shih Tzu and my Lab lick the walls??
Dogs are just weird I think. They will even lick carpet. Of course, it could be because they are finding things the kids are spilling everywhere!

My chihuahua loves to lick the carpet. Drives me crazy for some reason. I would love to know what she finds so desirable about it. I don't have kids that spill stuff on the rug... so I have no idea what the attraction is.

its not just dachshunds my cousins dogs do it to.. they also lick humans...
