Error 1722? Help!!?

Question

I was trying to download java to my computer and I got an error 1722 because my windows installer can't open the package, so I don't know what else to do. i tried unregistering it and registering it, downloading it in safe mode, and so on.. so is anyone familiar on how to resolve an issue with windows installer? Help!!!

SOLUTION There are two possible solutions. Before trying any of these solutions, we recommend that you remove any traces of the failed JRE installation.
