Sorry for this ambiguous question, I am trying to decipher it for someone else, and am boggled. Ideas welcomed from those that know their Bible well.

The Maccabean Revolt happened between the Old & New Testament.

The persian Empire ruled from 559 B.C. to 330 B.C. and the the last book of the Old testament ends around 397 B.C. Therefore The last war of the old testament would be the Persian War, but after that the macedonian empire ruled under Alexander the Great for 13 years, after he dies Alexanders Kindom divides into about 8 or 9 empires until the Roman Empire comes to power around 150 B.C. and the Roman Empire still ruled during the New Testament.

Sorry I don't really understand. are you talking about physical wars or theological arguments between the two. Just prior to the coming of Christ the Romans defeated the Greeks and took over occupation of the Holy Land. Just prior to that the Maccabean wars took place between the Jews and the Syrians.
