It's beause it scares them, they can't wrap thier minds around the thought of blood coming from any body part for days at a time, which to them, combined with cramps, would be a seroius medical problem. In some cultures, women are isolated during thier periods,(some times this sounds good to me, I rather be alone at that time anyway). Men seem to have a genetic fear of periods, that is why they know so little about them, they are too afraid to find out. Oh well, I like knowing we can scare them a little, now if I could just train my hubby that he would not die, if he had to go buy me a box of tampons!!

It is amazing... given the education and open conversations that are spoken on the bus even... never mind cell phone conversations that are overheard... If you are dating one of these guys.. try telling him that you need chocolate.. and LOTS of it to "get through the agony of it all"
I had a boyfriend once that would insist on taking me out for a nice steak dinner because I needed RED meat when I was having my "monthly visit from Auntie Flo" (his words not mine) never told him any different... just enjoyed the steak and of course chocolate dessert!

to simply put it: guys mature slower than girls/women. i found that in high school health classes that guys tune out when the topic is pms and start paying attention the the sex part.
i don't think that guys realize how much pain our cramps become or how cranky we get.

it's sad that our schools don't teach this to young men... my class always separated into boys and girls health.. i learned all about my own body, but not much about girls..
it wasn't until i was 23 and took a course in college that i really learned the truth about what all you ladies have to go thru!

Get married! My husband learned very quickly what that was and how long it lasted when we started to live together.

Honey, there are some 50 year old men who still don't know. Just because they are older doesn't make them mature. :)
