Do not take questions from this child seriously, folks.

This child PROUD MUSLIMAH GOOD ISLAM is a trouble maker and if you check on her answers, peoples' comments to her, and her questions, you will see that she is on a mission to make Muslims look very bad, all of us.

I do not know the source of her sickness but she lies constantly and makes a farce of anything decent.

Her illiteracy is what makes her even more laughable. She is the only one laughing.

So take a check on her page and see what she is up to and realize she is laughing at anyone who is "stupid" (in her eyes) kind enough to answer her imbecilic questions.

Islam allows a muslim man for having a maximum four wives but in the holy qur'an Allah gives a strict qualification that a man can afford their lives with 4 wives and the man can treat all of his wives fairly. But in the Qur'an itself God spoke that a man could not be fair.So polygamy in Islam is only an emergency door if in the society there are so many widows with many children and they could not afford their lives well.Polygamy in Islam has been given an example by Muhammad pbuh that he got married with old women who had so many children and her husbands died in a war.Muhammad pbuh got married again was not based on his lust.
Oppositely,in Islam women have no right for having 4 husbands because in fact in the society there are more women than men and if a muslimah has 4 husbands she would not know exactly
who is the father of her kids..Besides that , in islamic teaching the father has the right to give permission for his daughter to marry a muslim..So it will be difficult who will give that permis
sion..In Islam the husband is the head of a family.Islam respects the emancipation of woman but not all rights and obligations of a husband just the same with a wife.

i dont know but do you want 4 husbands? lol. i think because during that time the reason the men were allowed to have 4 wives was because the women could not support themselves. the marriages aren't for pleasure! men do not need a wife to support them. now if you were living in a country where husbands could not work and women were the supporters, then maybe it would be different. but this has never happened before. the circumstances for women are different also today and this idea of them needing men to support them doesn't neccessarily apply today. so even a man having 4 wives is questionable unless it is under the right circumstances. there was also a scholar name zakir naik who answered this question but i dont remember it exactly i will try to find the link.
i think it said that you wouldn't be able to tell who the father of the children was. also, it would be too much on the wife to bear the children of 4 different men.

I guess the answer would be in the Koran.

For a muslim man to have more then 1 wife, he has to prove he can provide for all this wives equally and he has to get the agreement from his current wife (wives). He has also the obligation to treat his wives equally.

I guess it is scripted in the time where men are viewed as the sole breadwinner and hence it is pretty atuned towards male. For women, in the Koran, they are viewed as companion to men.

By the way, I am not a muslim,

Because you would get too much sex! ;-)

Well getting serious, it would be best of a muslim man to answer this question... he might probably argue some Quaranic explanation, but it's all about the interpretation and the mentality of the time when it was written.

The fact is that most countries were totally male-chovinists and nowadays I don't see why not. The only problem is that muslim countries are still ruled by men's old-fashioned ideals...

Who told you you're Muslim? Your questions and your attitudes toward Islam are more than enough proof that you hate Islam, so why practice it? Geeeee... I'd NEVER practice a religion I don't like. Why WOULD anyone do that?!
You need some peace and happiness in your life. I pray you get it soon!
To answer your ignorant question, Muslim men can marry more than one wife under CERTAIN conditions; you didn't know that, of course. Neither does any other anti-Muslim. There are FAR too many more women in the world than there are men.... Research it; it's good to search for the Truth; it brings peace and happiness to one's life.
If I (a woman) married 4 men, and many other women married 4 men each... what'll become of the rest of the women who wish to be married? They won't be able to find men for marriage, and prostituition and other illegal junkies will become a bit too much more common.
A Muslim is one who uses his/her brain to think before asking questions. Hence, you're not one (I've evidence: your emails, your other questions, your clones of REAL Muslim females and asking the stupidest, most ignorant questions ever).
Peace and blessings be upon you!

first yes a Muslim man may have up to four wives, but the Quran also says that it is better to have one.

Why can a Muslim woman not have more than one man. Would you want to put up with more than one. I have three children; my two sons and my husband

A lot of people, including some Muslims, question the logic of allowing Muslim men to have more than one spouse while denying the same ‘right’ to women.

Let me first state emphatically, that the foundation of an Islamic society is justice and equity. Allah has created men and women as equal, but with different capabilities and different responsibilities. Men and women are different, physiologically and psychologically. Their roles and responsibilities are different. Men and women are equal in Islam, but not identical.

Surah Nisa’ Chapter 4 verses 22 to 24 gives the list of women with who you can not marry and it is further mentions in Surah Nisa’ Chapter 4 verse 24 "Also (prohibited are) women already married"

The following points enumerate the reasons why polyandry is prohibited in Islam:

1. If a man has more than one wife, the parents of the children born of such marriages can easily be identified. The father as well as the mother can easily be identified. In case of a woman marrying more than one husband, only the mother of the children born of such marriages will be identified and not the father. Islam gives tremendous importance to the identification of both parents, mother and father. Psychologists tell us that children who do not know their parents, especially their father undergo severe mental trauma and disturbances. Often they have an unhappy childhood. It is for this reason that the children of prostitutes do not have a healthy childhood. If a child born of such wedlock is admitted in school, and when the mother is asked the name of the father, she would have to give two or more names! I am aware that recent advances in science have made it possible for both the mother and father to be identified with the help of genetic testing. Thus this point which was applicable for the past may not be applicable for the present.

2. Man is more polygamous by nature as compared to a woman.

3. Biologically, it is easier for a man to perform his duties as a husband despite having several wives. A woman, in a similar position, having several husbands, will not find it possible to perform her duties as a wife. A woman undergoes several psychological and behavioral changes due to different phases of the menstrual cycle.

4. A woman who has more than one husband will have several sexual partners at the same time and has a high chance of acquiring venereal or sexually transmitted diseases which can also be transmitted back to her husband even if all of them have no extra-marital sex. This is not the case in a man having more than one wife, and none of them having extra-marital sex.

The above reasons are those that one can easily identify. There are probably many more reasons why Allah, in His Infinite Wisdom, has prohibited polyandry.

Do you really need to ask, is it not obvious to you? It insults the very essence of my womanhood to even answer this question. What makes me equally angry is the fact that woman are allowed to practice certain religions but are not allowed to pray and or take service with the men. Without us women there would be no Men for that religion. OMG how I want to puke when I hear stuff like that. Want to put an end to stuff like that, WOMAN should ban together and say we are having NO MORE CHILDREN till you men smarten up. That would end just about every stupid man made thing there is. Men do not realize something, WOMAN have the power to END HUMANITY. Imagine that.......................

It is basically said that in most modern Islamic countries men traiditoinally only take one wife. It is only the few rare tribes and in the ultra rich oil countries where it still happens to a degree.

As for why, it seems to be because men are the bread winners and protectors and they are thus allowed to protect 4 women in areas where there are too few men. At least that's the party line I get from others.
