This small amount probably won't cause toxicity, but it could easily maker her sick. Dark chocolate is more toxic, milk chocolate isn't as big of a problem. If it was sugar-free, however, this can cause a HUGE problem ,and you ought to take her in right away. Call your vet first and ask what they think. If they say notto worry, don't worry about it too much. Either way, watch for sign of distress or blockage, such as straining to defecate, vomiting, etc. She could get diarrhea from all the fat in the peanut butter, but it depends on how big of a peanut butter cup it was. All in all I think she'll be okay, just keep an eye on her and make sure she doesn't get into chocolate or candy anymore!

If its a small piece of chocolate, I dont think that will be a problem, but since chihuahuas are quite small dogs, keep an eye on her and if there is any sign of sickness, call the vet.

Yes, absolutely! Chocolate is toxic to any breed dogs, the smaller one getting the toxins quicker. no chocolate for any type dog. My grandfather made the mistake many years ago of giving his dog chocolate, I didn't know he WAS doing that! But I was the one that took it to the vet everyday & sat through the treatments. His dog almost died! No chocolate! If the chihuahua ate it just VERY recently, you can induce vomiting. If not, I'd sure get her to the vet. Good Luck!

he might have a loose stool. But as long as he didnt' eat that much chocolate I think it should be ok without taking him to a vet. Maybe you should call the vet first before you go.
my puppy ate a piece of brownie and he didn't get sick at all

Call the emergency vet and ask them. I doubt it would be enough to harm a chihuahua, maybe just make them throw up a little.

It can be. . but I think it might have to be pure/real chocolate. .my dog ate 6 chololate iced donuts(don't leave things unnattended even if they are wrapped) and she was okay. .but I would at least call your vet to check and see. look in the phone book for an emergency vet hotline in ur area.

Just call the vet to be sure. It may because she is so small but just find a vet to call. They will be able to tell ya.
