A Non Christian already has at least twice that I can remember. Both THomas Jefferson and Abraham Lincoln were professed non-christians but in this day and age where it seems the religious right has been sucessful in pushing it's supposid "family values" agenda as the central platform of the country I don't know.
Even a Christian as president isn't such a bad thing as long as it's not a fundamental christian which is what we seem to have today

I hope so, a good buddhist one would exercise indiscriminating compassion, fairness, and peace.

I think just a few too many christians would disagree with me and the other buddhists..! :-P

Well anyway, the presidential position has almost always been open to corrupt businessmen and showmen, not the reserved, humble and honest (so the traditional position of president wouldn't suit a moral buddhist hehe).

I knew you'd get a lot of moronic answers with that question...... This Country was founded on Christianity. That's one of the reason's why they put "in God we trust" on our currency. The Pilgrims who settled here were of the Christian faith. They believed in the God of the Bible! We've been in a gradual state of decline since then because much of the Country has shunned the the word of God for their cesspool of morally corruptive behavior. The foreigners helped make it worse by bringing their false Idol pagan ritual religion with them. The heathen who have no moral values what so-ever, compare well with the Sodomites of the Bible who were utterly destroyed by the hand of God. So to answer you question.......What do you think?

Joe Lieberman was nominated for Vice President. I think it's very possible for a Jewish person, but it would have to be a moderate-to-conservate religiously-observant Jew. I doubt it could be a Muslim for A LONG TIME.

I think if you will really study the truth you will see that very few if any have been Christian indeed. It is said that John F. Kennedy was baptized shortly before he was murdered. Everyone who says they are Christian is not one.

I think it can happen, yes. It's very possible.

Personally though I don't care what religion the president is, as long as he/she does their job and doesn't mess up.

There was a big brew-ha-ha over Kennedy being a Catholic so there is some hope!

Got my fingers crossed for Obama!
