Not a silly question, especially this year. Normally it's April 15. But this year, April 15 falls on a Sunday, and April 16 is a holiday in Washington DC, so the deadline is April 17.

April 17. Ordinarily, it would be the 16th in accordance with the Master Tax Guide, but Washington D.C made it a holiday, so governments will take it even though the rest of the nation works.

The 16th is not a national holiday, but it is a holiday for Washington D.C.

April 15 is the deadline for filing you income tax returns. In less of course you file an extension.

April 15 (unless you have a valid reason for an extension)
