I think you'll be fine. I get nervous flying those commuter shuttles that go between the smaller and the larger airports. (You know, the ones that have propellers. They have to store the larger carry-ons in front, because there's no room overhead or under the seats!) Once I got to the larger airport, transferred to the larger plane, got in the air and got used to it, I was fine. Flying on a plane is safer than driving a car. If you don't believe me, get on an interstate some Friday evening when people are rushing to get to their destination! You'll see all of the bad drivers out and road rage at its peak!

Wow! I don't think you can die from stress, unless it is a prolonged bout with stress. I'm not talking about instant death, more along the lines of wear and tear physically due to your emotionally condition. You may experience a panic attack that makes you feel like you're close to death. If your anxiety is that intense, is there, perhaps an alternative to your flying? Consider your options...maybe leaving a day or two early and catching a Greyhound or something.

My best friend is terrified of flying. She went to her doctor, and he gave her a small amount of Xanax (just enough for the plane each way). It worked, she was calm and the flights went by fine. She even got some sleep in each direction.

I'm a nurse. I think that your body has to catch up to the stress it's under. I would try some OTC sleeping pills and see if that helps you, it should, sweet dreams.
