My sister and I love to explore around the neighbor hood but my parents won't even let her cross the district! There are separate roads leading to the other neighborhood and my parents won't let her cross and she's 10 years old! I feel bored when I explore by myself and I really want her to come with me to keep me company and she wants to go too. I tried thinking of ways to explain to my parents of how much my sister wants to explore but I can't think of any. That's why I need your help, and lay the future in your hands... (No pressure)

I am the parent of an 11 and a 12 yo, and I do think that 10 should be old enough to go with an older sibling. Maybe you could ask something very SPECIFIC, such as, "Can we spend 30 minutes going down Smith Avenue and looking around? I promise that we will stay together, and little sister says she'd obey me." Or what about asking permission for little sister to come see something really cool that you just found that you want her to see. Or, hey, here's a fun one: tell your mom about something really cool you found that you want her and the little sister to come see, and when she says she can't, then ask if you can show the little sister.

First I would want to know how old you are and if you can legally be responsible for taking care of a 10 year old.

Then I would want to know how far away that place is that you want to go to and why.

Then I would want to know how you plan to get there and when.

Then I would want to know who else is going with you and their parent's names and phone numbers in case something would happen.

But really, it's up to your parents. If they say NO, it's NO. If you keep asking they'll probably take away your priviledges to go out by yourself if you keep nagging!
